RESOLUTION NO. 60-98
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, APPROVING A
VARIANCE REQUEST SUBMITTED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE DANIA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, FOR PROPERTY LOCATED
AT 113 S. FEDERAL HWY., DANIA, FOR A VARIANCE FROM CHAPTER
3; ADVERTISING, ARTICLE 11 SIGNS, SECTION 3-39 (b)(1) a., b., AND c.
OF THE DOWNTOWN DANIA REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT SIGN
REGULATIONS OF THE DANIA CODE OF ORDINANCES; PROVIDING
THAT ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT
BE REPEALED TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT; FURTHER,
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, CHAPTER 3; Advertising, Article 11 Signs, Section 3-39 (b)(1) a., b.,
and c.; of the Downtown Dania Redevelopment District Sign Regulations of the Dania
Code of Ordinances, requires that one (1) pole (ground) sign shall be permitted per
development; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Dania United Methodist Church, located
at 113 South Federal Hwy., Dania, has applied for a variance (VA-18-98) which would
allow the two (2) monument signs currently in place to remain; and

WHEREAS, the Planning &Zoning Board on March 18, 1998, recommends that the
City Commission grant variance request VA-18-98 based upon the criteria set forth in
section 10.13 of Article 10, of Chapter 28, Zoning of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Dania; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That that certain application (VA-18-98) submitted by the Board of
Trustees of the Dania United Methodist Church for a variance from Chapter 3; Advertising,
Article II Signs, Section 3-39 (13)(1) a., b., and c. of the Downtown Dania Redevelopment

District Sign Regulations of the Dania Code Of Ordinances, which application is attached
and made a part hereof as Exhibit"A", is hereby approved and the appropriate city officials
are directed to execute same.
Section 2. That said petition fees in the amount of $165.00 required by the
Building Department to process this sign variance are waived by action of the City

Commission.
Section 3 . That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
