A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, COMMENDING JAMES "ANDY"
ANDERSON, LARRY NADEAU, JIMMY FIELDS AND JOSE URTECHO FOR THEIR
OUTSTANDING WORKMANSHIP IN THE RENOVATION AND REDESIGN OF THE
OLD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BUILDING; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Dania found it necessary to relocate the Fire/Rescue Administrative Offices in
order to begin the restoration and preservation of the Nyberg-Swanson House, in which structure these offices
were located; and
WHEREAS, it was estimated that the city should expect to expend an approximate amount of$125,000.00
in order to make the old Chamber of Commerce Building suitable for use by the Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the City's Maintenance Crew, James "Andy" Anderson, Larry Nadeau, Jimmy Fields and,
Supervisor, Jose Urtecho, were assigned the task of removing walls, flooring, etc., in preparation for the
renovations; and
WHEREAS, the decision was made that they continue past the preparation stage and actually begin some
of the renovations; and
WHEREAS, through their foresight and ingenuity, the interior of this structure began a metamorphosis
into a viable office environment; and
WHEREAS, once completed, the new Fire Administration Offices became one of the City's premier
facilities; and
WHEREAS, not only were these new offices an outstanding blend of ideas and first class workmanship, in
•addition,the city realized a substantial financial benefit in the final costs thereof ; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of their outstanding workmanship, ingenuity and dedication, the City
Commission of the City of Dania wishes to formally commend these employees for their outstanding efforts in
this endeavor.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. In formal recognition of their outstanding workmanship and ingenuity,the City Commission of
the City of Dania wishes to recognize James "Andy" Anderson, Larry Nadeau, and Jimmy Fields, under the
supervision of Jose Urtecho, for their outstanding performance in renovating and remodeling the old chamber
building. The City Commission also wishes to acknowledge that their dedication to this project is clearly
evidenced by the results of their labor, and further wishes to acknowledge that their efforts have not only
provided the City with a premier suite of offices but have also benefited the City financially.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its passage and
adoption.
