A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, APPROVING
THE APPLICATION FOR THE 24TH YEAR (1998-99 FISCAL YEAR)
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
BETWEEN THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, AND BROWARD
COUNTY; AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO
EXECUTE SAID APPLICATIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
j BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA,
FLORIDA.
Section 1. That that certain application for the 24th Year (1998-99 fiscal year)
Community Development Block Grant Program between the City of Dania, Florida and
Broward County, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A", be and the same is
hereby approved and appropriate city officials are hereby directed to execute same.

Section 2. That said application provides for two projects not exceeding
$300,000; a drainage system in the Southwest section of the City along Ely Boulevard
and continued sidewalk improvements in the Northwest section of the City involving the
Byrd Point/Modello Park community.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately
upon its passage and adoption.

RE: 24th Year CDBG Funding
DATE: March 9, 1998
Staff recommends that the City applies for Community Development Block Grant
Funding for the 24th Year of funding. The pertinent information is as follows:
the proposal deadline is March 16;
the two proposed projects are a drainage system in the Southwest along Ely
Blvd and a continuation of sidewalk improvements in the NW Byrd
Point/Modello Park Community;
the City Commission expressed its support for the two projects at the March 3
Community Development Workshop;
the proposal will be evaluated between April and June of this year and
funding will be available beginning October 1;
we will apply for the maximum amount of$300,000.

grant and funding process for the 24th Program Year. The Division has developed a
consolidated planning strategy involving the solicitation of federal - CDBG, HOME and
ESPG funds.
A proposal information workshop has been scheduled to discuss the funding opportunities
available this year. The proposal workshop will be held as follows:

A. Municipal/NPO Project Applications
1. Submission of project applications including prioritization of each project.
2. Submission of all certification requirements.
3. Individual project evaluation/recommendations by Community Development staff.
4. Assignment of numerical score and ranking of proposals in descending order by
Planning Subcommittee Report.
5. Notification to applicants on results of project ratings and need to request
scheduling for presentation of applicants.

6. Presentation to Committee for Community Development (CCD) by spokesperson
of each project.
7. Deliberation by CCD on Planning Subcommittee Report.
g. Assignment of individual projects to be funded meeting the 80 point threshold as
Community Development Block Grant Funds allow.

BUDGET NARRATIVE
Instructions: The budget narrative statement should provide a detailed
justification for each cost category shown on the Budget
Information (Page#6). The budget narrative should identify non-
CDBG resources to be utilized In financing including mortgages
or construction financing for the project. Also,specify the costs
for which CDBG funding is being requested and the costs to be
covered by non-CDBG resources. Additional pages can be
added, if necessary.
