A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA,
CREATING AN OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE REVIEW
ADVISORY BOARD; PROVIDING FOR THE
APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS; PROVIDING FOR THE
POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE BOARD; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City recognizes the benefits of public participation in the occupational
license review process, and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to create an advisory board to be known as the" City of
Dania Occupational License Review Advisory Board"to provide specific recommendations
regarding the fees assessed for occupational licenses.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA;
Section 1. That the City Commission hereby creates the City of Dania Occupational
License Review Advisory Board in accordance with the provisions contained in Pt. XI, Article 3,
Section 1 of the City Charter.
Section 2. The board shall be composed of five (5)men or women who are residents of
the City of Dania for a period of six (6) months prior to their appointment and otherwise
qualified to act in an advisory capacity to the city commission, the city manager, or to any
department of the city government, with respect to the conduct and management of any property
or institution or the exercise of any public functions of the city. The members of such board
shall serve without compensation at the pleasure of the commission, and their duties shall be to
consult and advise with such municipal officers and make written recommendations which shall
become part of the records of the city. The Board shall elect a chairperson and secretary and
may adopt their own by-laws.
Section 3. Each City Commissioner shall appoint one(1)member to the board.
Section 4. The Committee shall make recommendations to the City Commission which
shall establish and maintain fair and equitable license fees.

Section 5. Each member shall serve a two(2) year term which shall expire at 12:00 noon on the
first Tuesday following each biennial general municipal election.
Section 6. Unexcused absence by any board member from two (2) consecutive meetings or any
three(3) consecutive absences shall constitute an automatic resignation of such member.

Section 7. This resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its passage and
adoption.
