HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-1997-039 RESOLUTION NO. 39-97 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANTS FOR 1997-98 BETWEEN THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA, AND BROWARD COUNTY; AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE SAID APPLICATIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA. Section 1. That that certain application for Community Development Block Grants for 1997-98, between the City of Dania, Florida and Broward County, be and the same is hereby ;I approved and appropriate city officials are hereby directed to execute same. Smith, City Manager SUBJECT: CDBG PROPOSALS FOR 1997/1998 The following projects are suggested for submittal under the Urban County CDBG Program to Broward County for 1997/1998. Projects are listed in order of priority, however, each project is rated by the Broward County Committee for Community Development . Funding order is determined by this project rating in competition with proposals with other entities. 1. Northwest Sidewalk, Street and Landscape Improvements ,Phase 2. Amount Requested $ 200,000. 2. Southwest Sidewalk, Street and Landscape Improvements, Phase 3 Amount Requested $ 100,000. City and engineering staffs have worked closely with neighborhood associations ( College Gardens and NW/Byrd Pointe ) over the past year to develop a work plan. If funded we will continue to involve these resident associations in the design and scope of the project as it is implemented. A Resolution approving the City's application for funding is attached.
