Virta, AICP Growth Management Directo RE: Historic Preservation Grant for the Swanson-Nyberg House Date: November 20, 1997 As you are aware, the Swanson-Nyberg House is in need of extensive repairs. Most of the urgent repairs are as a result of leakage through the roof. Ken Koch solicited an estimate on the cost of repairs and was given a figure of $33,400.00 based upon what could be seen. Based upon this estimate Mr. Koch has suggested that a budget of$50,000.00 be established for this project. The Florida Department of State is currently in a grant application cycle. These are matching grants for which the City would have to match if it was interested in participating. The application must be submitted by the deadline of December 15, 1997. In order to do that we will need the City Commission's authorization to prepare and submit such a request. Attached is a draft resolution that, if approved, would authorize the preparation and submittal of a grant request. It is my recommendation that we present this matter to the Commission to seek their approval.
