HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-1999-017�, r r �.�. �- .. f r- -r RESOLUTION NO. 17-99 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY BEAUTIFICATION GRANT PROGRAM IN AN APPROXIMATE AMOUNT OF $83,600.00 FOR UPGRADING THE GRIFFIN ROAD/1-95 INTERCHANGE AND MEDIANS ALONG 1-95 WEST TO THE CITY LINE AT SW 35TH AVENUE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO COMMIT MATCHING FUNDS IN AN APPROXIMATE AMOUNT OF $83,500.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE GRANT PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE SAID APPLICATION; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA. Section 1. That the city manager is hereby authorized to apply to the Florida Department of Transportation for the Florida Highway Beautification Grant Program in the approximate amount of$83,500.00 for upgrading Griffin Road/1-95 Interchange and medians along Griffin Road immediately East of 1-95 and immediately West of 1-95 to Anglers Avenue; a copy of which application is attached and made a part of this Resolution as Exhibit"A", is approved and appropriate city officials are directed to execute same. Section 2. That the city manager is hereby authorized to commit matching funds in the approximate amount of$83,500.00 in accordance with the Florida Highway Beautification Grant Program, such matching funds to be appropriated from prior years surplus. Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 4. (Resolution N2). The local governing body understands the attributes to be used by the Highway Beautification Council to prioritize all projects (listed in the last section of this form), and has addressed all those attributed to the maximum extent possible.
