BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA; WHEREAS, the Dania Beach City Commission, on January 12, 1999, adopted Resolution number 01-99 approving a Change Order submitted by Coastal Contracting & Development reducing the original contract price of $637,250.00 to $635,845.00 for renovations of Fire Station No. 1; and WHEREAS, Coastal Contracting & Development has submitted a second Change Order in the amount of$21,899.00 increasing the contract price of$635,845.00 to $657,744.00; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That Change Order No. 2 as submitted by Coastal Contracting & Development in the amount of$21,899.00 increasing the contract price from $635,845.00 to $657,744.00 for renovation of Fire Station No. 1, in substantial form as Exhibit"A", is approved and the appropriate city officials are hereby directed to execute it. Brown, Deputy Fire Chief Qf:;� RE: Change Order No. 2 relating to Station 1 renovations DATE: February 18, 1999 Attached hereto is the above briefly described Change Order. The items described therein are being requested for the purposes set forth below. In an effort to work within budget constraints for the costs of renovations and additions to Station 1, some site improvements were eliminated; however, as construction has progressed, we have discovered that for safety and access reasons, these items cannot be eliminated. For example: (1) the front and rear aprons (designated "front slab" and "rear slab") are insufficient to hold the weight of our fire/rescue vehicles and must be upgraded; and (2) a sidewalk must be installed to allow access form the parking lot, otherwise no safe and secure access exists. Other items on this change order relate to interior improvements which we feel are necessary to refine the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department's operations and use of work areas. This change order reflects what we feel are necessary improvements and adds only slightly over 3% to the construction costs.
