RESOLUTION NO. 36-99
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE
DIRECTOR TO SIGN CHECKS AND WARRANTS FOR THE
PAYMENT OF MONEY BY THE CITY AND AS OTHERWISE
PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY CHARTER (SECTION 1 OF
ARTICLE 6 OF PART VII OF THE CITY CHARTER).
WHEREAS, as a result of recent changes to the City Charter which were
approved by the City electorate, which changes provided for the realignment of
duties of certain City officials, including the city manager and department heads,
the authority to sign City checks and warrants for the payment of money, as a
duty of the finance director, was inadvertently omitted as one of the prescribed
duties of such director; and
WHEREAS, pending the adoption of an amending ordinance, it is
necessary to authorize the finance director to sign checks and warrants for the
payment of money by the City as otherwise prescribed by the Charter provision
identified above;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. As prescribed by Section 1, Article 6 of Part VII of the City Charter,
the finance director is authorized to sign checks and warrants for the payment of
money by the City.
Section 2. This Resolution shall expire upon the adoption of an amending
ordinance which prescribes check and warrant signature authority as being

delegated to the finance director, upon the effective date of the adoption of such
ordinance.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately
upon its passage and adoption.
