RESOLUTION NO. 68-99
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH,
FLORIDA, APPROVING THE SITE PLAN REQUEST
SUBMITTED BY MICHAEL MOGERMAN, REPRESENTING
FESTIVAL FUN PARKS, FOR PROPERTY COMMONLY
KNOWN AS GRAND PRIX RACE-O-RAMA, LOCATED AT
1500-1700 NW 1ST STREET, DANIA BEACH; PROVIDING
THAT ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS
IN CONFLICT WITH THIS RESOLUTION ARE REPEALED
TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT; FURTHER,
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 8.4 of Article 1 of Chapter 8 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Dania Beach, Florida, states that a site plan is required as a condition to the
issuance of a building permit; and
WHEREAS, Michael Mogerman, representing Festival Fun Parks, owner of
property commonly known as Grand Prix Race-O-Rama, has applied for site plan approval
for construction of a Paint Ball Area and 2 modular buildings, to be located at 1700 NW
1" Street, Dania Beach; and
WHEREAS, the Planning & Zoning Board on March 17, 1999, recommended that
the City Commission grant the site plan request (SP-13-99), based upon the criteria set
forth in Section 8.4 of Article 1 of Chapter 8, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Dania
Beach;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That that certain application (SP-13-99)for site plan approval, a copy of
which is attached and made a part of this Resolution as Exhibit "A" is approved and the
appropriate city officials are directed to execute same.

Section 2. That based upon criteria set forth in Section 84(p) of Article 1 of Chapter
8, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Dania Beach, all site plan approvals shall
automatically expire and become null and void unless building permits are obtained
on or before 18 months from the date of this resolution;
Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon
its passage and adoption.

RE: Sp-13-99 Festival Fun Parks
Date: April 5, 1999
Festival Fun Parks, the owner of Grand Prix Race-O-Rama, is seeking approval
to establish a paint ball facility on the northeast corner of their property. The site of this
request, which is 70,100 square feet in area, will be completely enclosed with netting.
The netting will cover the top of the area as well as the sides.
In addition the applicant is proposing to install two small modular buildings in
association with this particular amusement. The smaller structure would be 450 square
feet and the larger would be 900 square feet.
As proposed the use does not appear to present any particular problems of
which the Planning and Zoning Board was cognizant. There is more than adequate
space to accommodate this attraction. The location is in close proximity to the main
activity area but placed along its periphery.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff believed that the Planning and Zoning Board should act favorably on this
request. They in turn are recommending to the City Commission that the addition of this
attraction to this amusement park be approved.
