HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-1999-026., ' r 't � .. f ' _. �_ r, ' r 'Y r ORDINANCE NO. 26-99 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 17-125 OF THE CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES, WHICH SECTION IS ENTITLED "ESTABLISHED; INTENT; COMPOSITION; TERM", OF ARTICLE VII, ENTITLED "NUISANCE ABATEMENT BOARD", OF CHAPTER 17, ENTITLED "OFFENSES — MISCELLANEOUS", TO CHANGE THE LENGTH OF BOARD MEMBERS' TERMS FROM ONE (1) YEAR TO TWO (2) YEARS AND DESIGNATE THE EXPIRATION OF SUCH TERMS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING A SEVERANCE CLAUSE; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That Section 17-125 of Article VII, Chapter 17, Offenses — Miscellaneous, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Dania Beach, which section is entitled "Established; intent; composition; term", is amended to read as follows: There is hereby established a Nuisance Abatement Board of the City of Dania Beach. The board shall consist of five (5) members and two (2) alternate members. Board members shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the City Commission for a term of one (1) yea f two (2) years. The term of each member shall automatically terminate and expire at 12.00 noon on the first Tuesday following each biennial general municipal election. Board members must be residents of the city. Members shall serve without compensation. The presence of three or more members shall constitute a quorum. Section 2. If any section, clause, sentence of phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are repealed. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect immediately at the time of its passage and adoption.
