"TOOTIE" ADLER'S NAME AS THE CITY'S NOMINATION TO THE FLORIDA LEAGUE OF CITIES FOR THE GREAT FLORIDIANS 2000 AWARD; PROVIDING THAT ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH BE REPEALED TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT;AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Frank C. "Tootie"Adler was a resident of the City of Dania Beach from 1931 until his death on September 29, 1997; and WHEREAS, Frank C. "Tootie"Adler served with integrity and distinction as a Dania City Commissioner, Dania's Mayor, a Broward County Commissioner and as the Dania City Attorney; and WHEREAS, Frank C. "Tootie"Adler served as Mayor of the City of Dania at the time Dania acquired the property identified as Dania Beach from the State of Florida; and WHEREAS, Frank C. "Tootie"Adler's tireless advocacy and keen foresight were instrumental in the acquisition of the Dania Beach property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1.. That that certain application to the Florida League of Cities nominating Frank C. "Tootie"Adler for the Great Floridians Award, in substantial form as Exhibit "A", attached, is approved and the appropriate city officials are authorized to execute it. The City Manager and City Attorney are authorized to make minor revisions to such application as are deemed necessary and proper for the best interests of the City. Section 2. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 4. That this resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption. Adler also served as Mayor of the City of Dania at the time Dania acquired the property identified as Dania Beach from the State of Florida. Finally, Frank C. "Tootie" Adler's tireless advocacy and keen foresight were instrumental in the acquisition of the Dania Beach property. 3.
