RESOLUTION NO. 204-99
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH,
FLORIDA, SETTING MONTHLY CHARGES FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR 1999/2000 FOR COLLECTION AND
DISPOSAL OF TRASH AND WASTE; PROVIDING THAT
ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH BE REPEALED TO THE EXTENT OF
SUCH CONFLICT; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined the level of rates necessary to
meet the expenditure requirements of providing collection and disposal of solid waste
and trash and to equitably allocate the cost of this service to all customers necessitates
an adjustment of the monthly charges; and
WHEREAS, Section 13-69 (6) provides that all fees for garbage, bulk trash, bulk
yard trash, shall be set by resolution adopted by the City Commission and as same may
be amended from time to time.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City of Dania Beach shall provide sanitation and trash services
for each residential and multi-residential structure, no more than 4 living units, at a monthly
charge of$19.12 per unit.
Section 2. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the
same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be in force and take effect the 1s' day of
October, 1999.

Summary Explanation& Background:
Resolution approving the monthly charge of$19.12 for solid waste and trash pick-up service.
The bid for solid waste and bulk trash pick-up service was awarded to BFI on 9/15/99 at the bid
fee of$18.79 per unit. An administrative fee of.33 per month is added to cover the cost of
printing and mailling bills and the annual consultant fee for the section of the City in the non-
advalorem assessment area. The charge to property owners in the assessment area will be the
same as in the previous year, $19.42 due to the requirement to certify the fee and assessment
roll to the tax collector on 9/15, prior to the time the bid was awarded. A credit adjustment will be
made on the year 2000 tax bill.
