A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA,
TO BE DIRECTED TO THE BROWARD OFFICE OF THE
FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION,
RECOMMENDING THAT THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION ERECT SIGNS IN BOTH DIREC-
TIONS PRIOR TO REACHING ANY AND ALL EXITS
FROM I-95 IN BROWARD COUNTY, WHICH SIGNS
SHALL INDICATE THE NAME OF THE CITY OR
CITIES THE MOTORIST WILL BE EXITING INTO;
PROVIDING THAT ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF
RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH BE
REPEALED TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Dania recognizes the problems of motorists
using the Interstate I-95 when they are trying to locate the proper
exit they should use; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dania has concluded that in these days of
high speed and ever changing traffic patterns and the constant growth
and expansion of cities located relatively close to the said Interstate s
I-95 from which thousands of people exit every day into areas that are
not properly identified; and
WHEREAS, driving today requires all the help and consideration
that motorists can be given to help reduce the number of unnecessary
highway accidents .
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF DANIA, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That the City Commission of the City of Dania, in
Broward County Florida, hereby requests the Florida Department of
Transportation to arrange for the erection of the proper signs at the
approaches to every exit on Interstate I-95 in Broward County
designating the name of the city or cities adjacent to the various
exits from the said Interstate I-95.
Section 2: That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in
conflict herewith be repealed to the extent of such conflict .
Section 3: That this resolution shall be in force and take effect
immediately upon its passage and 'adoption.
