A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA
SUPPORTING THE PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION
OF DANIA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN ITS EFFORT
i TO HAVE ADDITIONAL TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES
INSTALLED IN THE SCHOOL AREA OF U. S. NO. 1
WHEREAS , the parents and teachers of Dania Elementary
School and other interested citizens have been working with the
officials of the Florida Department of Transportation and other
governmental agencies to provide better protection for the
children of Dania Elementary School at the school crossing at
U. S. No. 1 and South Third Street ; and j
WHEREAS , the City Commission of the City of Dania desires
to add its support to those efforts .
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF

THE CITY OF DANIA, FLORIDA:
Section 1 . That the City Commissioners of the City of
Dania, both individually and collectively for all citizens of
Dania , join with the Parent Teacher Association of Dania Ele-
mentary School and all other interested parties to strongly urge
i the Department of Transportation of the State of Florida to:
j1 . Establish a posted school zone on U. S. No. 1 at Dania
Elementary School ;
2. Erect proper school zone signs at Dania Elementary School ;
3. Install flashing warning lights for the school zone area;
and
i
4 . Reduce the speed limit for said school zone to 15 miles per
hour when the flashing lights are operating
at the earliest time possible and to take all other appropriate
action necessary to better protect the children of Dania ,.
Elementary School from bodily injury and/or death.
Section 2. That a copy of this resolution be furnished to the
Department of Transportation of the State of Florida and to other
pertinent agencies and official of our State and County.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be in force and take
effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
