A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN
APPLICATION FOR THE FLORIDA RECREATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
ASSISTANCE PROGRAM ("FRDAP") TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION FOR STATE OF FLORIDA FISCAL
YEAR 2022 - 2023; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City wishes to apply to the Florida Department of Environmental
Protection for a Florida Recreational Development Assistance Program Grant to benefit the local
residents; and
WHEREAS, there is a present and growing need for outdoor recreation opportunities
among persons of all ages within the City and for those visiting the area; and
WHEREAS, meeting the increasing demand for recreation opportunities can best be met
with the re -development of Mullikin Park as detailed in the application for funding for which the
City is applying in the October 15, 2021 application cycle, requesting Two Hundred Thousand
Dollars ($200,000.00) in grant funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are
made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference.
Section 2. That the City of Dania Beach is authorized to execute all the documents
required in connection with the filing of the application to be submitted on October 15, 2021.
Section 3. That as part of the application for the Florida Recreational Development
Assistance Program (FRDAP) grant, the Capital Improvements Element of the Comprehensive
Plan of the City will be amended to include the re -development of Mullikin Park, if the project is
funded in the 2022-2023 application cycle.
Section 4. That funding in the amount of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars
($200,000.00) shall be appropriated in the 2023-2024 Capital Improvement Plan for Mullikin
Park should the City be selected as a recipient of the funding.
Section 5. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 6. That this Resolution shall become effective upon its passage and adoption.
