A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING AN AMENDED BEACH PARKING FEE
SCHEDULE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Community Development Department (the "Department") staff has
evaluated existing parking fees to determine whether revisions to the fee schedule should be
recommended to the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, through its analysis, the Department has determined that updates should be
made to the current parking fee schedule in order to remain consistent with the fees charged by
surrounding municipalities with comparable facilities and services; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Amended Fee Schedule (the "Fee Schedule") will ensure that
the beach parking operation is financially sustainable and sufficient to provide for all operating
and capital improvement expenditures; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Fee Schedule is reasonable and is attached as Exhibit "A" and
is incorporated into this Resolution by this reference and the City Commission deems it to be in
the best interest of the City to adopt the Fee Schedule;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the above "WHEREAS" clauses are ratified and confirmed as being
true and correct, and they are made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference.
Section 2. That the City Commission adopts the Fee Schedule as shown in Exhibit
"A", which is attached and made a part of this Resolution by this reference.
Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its
passage and adoption.

EXHIBIT "A"
SECTION 6-33, CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES
SCHEDULE OF PARKING FEES
(a) Beach Parking Fees
Beach Hourly Parkin Rate or any portion of an hour
$2-.00 3.00 per hour
Resident Beach Parkin Permit in -state registration under age 65
$45.00 per year plus sales tax
Resident Beach Parking Permit (out-of-state registration under age
65
$75.00 per year plus sales tax
Resident Beach Parking Permit in -state registration age 65 or more
$25.00 per year plus sales tax
Resident Beach Parking Permit (out-of-state registration age 65 or
more with proof of ownership)
$25.00 per year plus sales tax
The City Manager is authorized to adjust the hourly charge, due to special events,
weekends, holidays, seasonal demand or any or all of the foregoing, by an amount of up to an
additional one dollar ($1.00) for each hour or fraction of an hour of parking time. Beach parking
permits are issued annually to correspond with the City's fiscal year and shall not be prorated for
any fraction of a year.
(b) Resident: A "resident" is defined to mean a person who lives in the City and who submits
the following documentation:
1. A current Florida motor vehicle registration or copy of current existing fully executed
lease agreement for a vehicle registered in Florida to verify the applicant's name. If the
vehicle is registered to a business name, proof of ownership must be submitted to verify
the applicant's name as directly related to the business;
2. A current utility bill or voter's registration card in the same name of applicant as the
vehicle registration or lease agreement showing a Dania Beach address;
3. The applicant must present and provide proof of identity to the City; and
4. Any resident claiming senior status must further demonstrate to the City the following:
a) That his or her age is sixty-five (65) or more;
b) Proof of ownership of property in the City if presenting an out-of-state
registration; and
c) A current utility bill or voter's registration in the same name of the applicant
as the vehicle registration or lease agreement.
(c) Business: To qualify for business parking in the parking garage, the applicant must be an
employee or owner of a business establishment with a current valid City business tax
receipt issued to such business which business is located within 900 yards of the City
garage. Such owner or employee shall submit the following documentation:

1. Proof of employment by a downtown business meeting the above criteria;
2. Current motor vehicle registration or copy of fully executed lease agreement to
verify the applicant's name; and
