BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA.
Dear Bob:
Pursuant to the City commission's's request, we are pleased to submit this proposal for additional
engineering services relative to construction observations and material testing for the new Dania
Fishing Pier, City of Dania, Broward County, Florida. This proposal is intended to supplement the
existing agreement between Coastal Technology Corporation (Coastal Tech) and the City of Dania
(City) dated September 14, 1993 under Resolution 157-93. The following are revised terms of
agreements between Coastal Tech and the City of Dania (Items in bold are additions to existing
agreement).
PART IV - CONSTRUCTION OBSERVATIONS (AMENDMENT NO. 1)
Coastal Tech will on behalf of the City to monitor the progress of construction, administer the
technical provisions to the contract, and make periodic site observations to ensure that construction
is in compliance with the plans, specifications, and permits. In addition to periodic site
observations made by the Professional Engineer, Coastal Tech will utilize an Inspector to
make daily observations of work throughout the course of construction. The frequency of site
visits will be adjusted on a weekly basis between (5) and twenty five (25) hours per week
depending on the Contractor's work schedule. These supplemental observations will document
work progress and will note deficiencies or deviations from the approved plans. Photographs
and reports will be submitted to the City on a monthly basis. Coastal Tech will review the
Contractor's periodic pay requests and make recommendation to the City for payment. Coastal Tech
will perform a substantial and final inspection of construction and certify to the City and the
regulatory agencies of project completion.
