REGULAR MEETING
NOVEMBER 25, 1980

1. A motion was made by Commissioner Donly, seconded by Commissioner Hirsch to
approve the minutes of the regular meeting of November 11, 1980. The motion
passed unanimously.

2. Public Hearings:
a) Second reading of an ordinance approving the "Roddy Dania Plat No. 2".
A motion was made by Commissioner Donly, seconded by Commissioner Hirsch
to continue this item until the next regular meeting upon the request of
Mr. Roddy. The motion passed unanimously.
b) City Attorney Adler read the title of an ordinance accepting and adopting
the Comprehensive Plan for the City.of Dania.
A motion was made by Commissioner Donly, seconded by Commissioner Cook to
t. approve this ordinance on first reading. , The motion passed on the fol-
lowing roll call vote:
Commissioner Bertino - .yes Commissioner Hirsch - yes
Commissioner Cook - yes Mayor Adams - yes .
Commissioner Donly - yes
3. A motion was made by Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Donly to
.: approve an emergency change order to R.J. Sullivan & Co. in the amount of
$3200 for the water tower maintenance. The motion passed unanimously.
4. A motion was made by Commissioner Bertino, seconded by Commissioner Donly to
approve a change order to F.J. Siller & Co. in the amount of $6,765.70 for
water line replacement from a 4" line to a 6" line. The motion passed unani-
mously.
5. A motion was made by Commissioner Donly, seconded by Commissioner Hirsch to
adopt a resolution appointing Mr. Mark Novogroski as the City's Personnel
Director effective December 11, 1980. The motion passed unanimously.
6. There were no citizens' comments.
! , Commission Comments:
Commissioner Hirsch requested that City Attorney Adler look into the blocking
of exits at Griffin Road, Sheridan Street and Miramar Parkway on I-75.
Commissioner Hirsch also asked for a sewer report.

City Engineer John Farina reported that 480,000 gallons of. leakage per day
had been sealed.and that 115,000 gallons,more or less is still leaking per
day. Mr. Farina also stated that this leakage should be taken care of in
the next month or two.
Addendum:
A motion was made by Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Hirsch to
adopt a resolution requesting the Governor and Cabinet to accept the recom-
mendations of the Endangered Lands Committee as to the priority of West Lake.
The motion passed unanimously.
City Engineer John Farina presented to the Commission the need to provide a
sewer line at SW Tenth Street and Federal highway due to the fact that the
line had been erroneously removed during the construction of Federal Highway.
A motion was made by Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Donly to
declare as an emergency the adoption of a resolution to expend approximately
$4800 to provide a sewer line to the property at SW Tenth Street and Federal
Highway; the emergency being that the Certificate of Occupance for the
property is ready to be issued and the sewer line must be installed. The
motion passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Commissioner Cook, seconded by Comoissioner.Hirsch to
adopt the resolution to expend approximately $4800 to provide a sewer line
to the property at SW Tenth Street and Federal Highway. The motion passed
unanimously.
Meeting adjourned.
