Byrd Commissioners: Jean Cook James Adams Robert •Donly City Manager: Richard Marant City Clerk: Wanda Mullikirr i; i. r Mayor Bertino informed the Commission that this meeting was called to order for formal ratification of the agreement be- tween the City and General Employees. Mr. Mark Novin, Personnel Director, added that he is presenting the informal announcement made to the General Employees by the, Administration wherein that it lists the items that both the City Commission as well as the Administration have agreed to. (SEE ATTACHMENT) A motion was then made by Commissioner Donly, seconded by Commissioner Byrd to grant the announcement as presented by Mark Novin for the General Employees. The motion passed on the following roll call vote: Commissioner Adams-yes Commissioner Donly-yes Commissioner Byrd-yes Mayor Bertino-no Commissioner Cook-yes A motion was made by Commissioner Adams, seconded by Commissioner Donly to adjourn this meeting. The motion passed unanimously. R- OMMISSIONER CITY CLERr. AUDITOR a+: Special Meeting -1- November 17, 1981 CITY OF DANIA NOVEMBER 17,1981 GENERAL EMPLOYEES ANNOUNCED BENEFITS 81 - 82 ITEM #1 WAGES Employees will receive 8% increase in Base Salary, retroactive to October 1,. 1981, and. an additional 5% increase in Base Salary on May 1,1982: ITEM #2 LONGEVITY Employees eligible to receive longevity will be offered a new, amended, Payment Plan as outlined below: % of Base Salary 6 yrs. of service.... 1.5% 7 yrs. of service.... 3.0% 8 yrs. of service.... 4.5% 9 yrs. of service.... 6.0% 10 yrs, of service.... 7.5% 11 yrs. of service.... - 9:0% 12 yrs. of service.... 10.5%. 13 yrs. .of service.... 12.0% 14 yrs. .of service.... 13.5% 15 yrs. of service.... 15.0% . Percentage of Base .Salary will be computed on the annual, prorated, salary base. _ . Years of service shall mean the number of years completed on the employees anniversary (date of hire) within the calendar year. ITEM #3 GROUP INSURANCE Employees will not be required to pay any additional premium in 181-82 for Dependancy coverage. ITEM 14 EDUCATIONAL Employees will be offered .the opportunity to earn an additional INCENTIVES one-time $25.00 payment for passing and completing any and all job related courses taken within the fiscal year, regardless of the number of courses taken. Courses must have a minimum of three (3) credit hours, taken .at an accredited institution of higher learning, or an approved number of job related seminars equal to Forty (40) hours, in the fiscal year. All courses and seminars must have prior approval of the Department Supervisor. PAGE 2 CIT YOF DANIA GENERAL EMPLOYEES iANNOUNCED BENEFITS-181-82 NOVEMBER 17,1981 ITEM 45 OVERTIME Employees will cont-Inue to enjoy overtime compensation at time and one-half their average hourly rate, provided they work in . excess of Forty (40) hours per week. Sick leave, personal/bereab-. ment leave, as well as holiday. and vacation time will not be. calculated toward overtime. Employees may choose to accept'overtime in the form of time and one-half payment or compensatory time; one and .one-half hours for each hour overtime worked. Employees may accrue comp. time to a maximum of 40 hours per calendar year, with no carry over from year to year. ITEM #6 SICK LEAVE The City shall maintain the current sick leave .accrual .policy, yet will slightly modify its use. Employees may take as many earned sick leave days as necessary for members of their immediate family; up to a maximum of five .(5) consecutive.days. Upon written approval by Personnel, employees may extend their sick leave for up to another five(5) consecutive days. If additional time is further required, employees must follow the same procedure. ITEM #7 . BEREAVEMENT The.Bereavement Leave Policy for employees will change to include: CLAUSE Leave with pay in-State, three days; leave with pay out-of-State, five days. Leave will be hbnored. provided that death has occured within the. immediate family, i.e.; Mother,Father, Sister, Brother, Step-Mother, ep- ather, Step-Sister, Step-Brother, Son,Daughter, . :life, Husband, Grandmother or Grandfather. Leave without pay may be granted for bereavement purposes for other hi a�mmediate'family only with the written approval of the Department Supervisor.. ITEM 748 UNIFORMS Employees, who,due to.the requirement of -their job, wear uniforms, will be issued'five(5) sets per week at no cost. Employees are forbidden to wear city uniforms during activities other than those directly related to their job. Employees er:•ro start their work day re—sled—in an unclean uniform will be sent home.for the day without pay. DURATION OF ANNOUNCEMENT This announcement shall stay in effect until September 30,1982. FOR THE.
