DANIA CITY COMMISSION
FEBRUARY 25, 1982

CONTINUATION OF REGULAR MEETING OF FEBRUARY 23, 1982, ON THE AIRPORT EXPAN-
SION ISSUE:
Mr. Joel Volinsky, Assistant County Administrator, stepped"forward to review
with the City Commission the different options that the County has offered
the City of Dania in relief of revenue loss due to expansion of the Ft. Lauder
dale/ Hollywood International Airport.
Attorney Harry Stewart, representing the County stepped forward to point out
the law outlining the reasons why the County cannot pay monies directly to
the City of Dania for their possible loss of revenues.
Marsha Beech, Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners, was present to
request continuation of this item for one week so that each party can have
more time to review this project.
A motion was made by Commissioner Cook, seconded. by Commissioner Donly to con-
tinue the discussion and possible action on approval of the expansion of the
Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport for a period of seven (7) days
from this date which would be March 4th, 1982.
The motion passed on the following roll call vote:
Commissioner Adams-yes Commissioner Donly-yes, .
Commissioner Byrd-yes Mayor Bertino-yes
Commissioner Cook-yes
A motion was made by Commissioner Donly, seconded by Commissioner Adams to
reopen the public hearing for Citizens' Comments in opposition of this expan-
sion project. The motion passed unanimously.
Mayor Bertino then opened the public hearing, after hearing several Dania residents
speak in opposition to granting the permit to the County and County representatives
expressing support of this project, the public hearing was closed.
A motion was made by Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Byrd to adjourn
this meeting. The motion passed unanimousl
