DANIA CITY COMMISSION

A motion was made by Commissioner Byrd, seconded by Commissioner Adams
to excuse Commissioner Donly and Commissioner Cook for being absent due
to having difficulty in arriving at this meeting. The motion passed
unanimously.
DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON AGREEMENTS BETWEEN CITY OF DANIA AND
BROWARD COUNTY WITH REGARD TO THE AIRPORT EXPANSION.
1. Assistant City Attorney Earl Gallop reviewed with the Commission the
areas in the agreements ,that are being considered for change.
Commissioner Cook arrived at this point
Commissioner Cook expressed concernthat when the County takes over the
Social Services Department, the Housing Authority may not be able to stay
at that facility.
Assistant City Attorney Earl Gallop advised that he would request that the
County send a memorandum letter to the City stating that the Housing Authority
can stay at the Social Services facility until such time that they can
make arrangements to relocate.
A motion was made by Commissioner Byrd, seconded by Commissioner Cook to
amend the agreements as discussed by the Commission and Mr. Gallop correct-
ing all typographical errors as they stipulated. The motion passed unani-
mously.
A motion was made by Commissioner Adams, seconded by Commissioner Byrd to
amend Paragraph 2, of the Emergency Police Service Agreement on the second
page by adding where it reads:Term, The term of this agreement shall
commence October 1, 1982, and terminate September 30, 1989, or to such
time as the airport expansion program is completed, but in no event,
before September 30, 1989". The motion passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Commissioner Byrd, seconded by Commissioner Adams .to
amend Paragraph 3, of the Emergency Police Service Agreement where it reads:
Compensation by adding "The County shall pay an annual fee of $25,000.00
payable on or before October 1st, 1982, and October 1st of each and every
subsequent year". The motion passed unanimously.

A motion was made by Commissioner Adams, seconded by Commissioner Byrd
to authorize Assistant City Attorney Gallop to obtain a letter of
clarification from the County on the reannexation of land. The motion
passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Commissioner Byrd, seconded by Commissioner Adams
to accept and execute the agreements with the County as amended. The
motion passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Adams
to authorize and direct the City Manager to move forward in obtaining
the transfer of rights-of-way from the State Department of Transporta-
tion to build a road in the vicinity north. of Taylor Road one half mile
to the Vitola property. The motion passed unanimously.
2. Discussion and 2I2 adoption of resolution authorizin the ex ends=

A motion was made by Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Adams
to adopt a resolution authorizing the expenditure of $4,860.00 to pur-
chase one Kawasaki motorcycle for the Police Department. The motion
passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Adams
to adjourn this meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
