DANIA CITY COMMISSION
WORKSHOP MEETING
JULY 12, 1983
ROLL CALL:
Present:

City Manager: Richard Marant
Fire Chief: Eugene Jewell
City Engineer: John Calvin
Discussion of water and sewers.
City Manager Marant explained the sewer system problems necessitating
the workshop meeting.
John Calvin reported that after investigation it was determined that
the major problem with the sanitary sewer system is infiltration, not
inflow. The City Engineer's recommendation is to clean the sewer
lines and have a TV analysis made to determine leak locations.
During discussion, it was decided that the TV of lines should be done
under the supervision of John Calvin after which a report determining
repair priorities and costs would be submitted.
City Manager Marant said that he would like to add to the agenda for
the Regular Commission Meeting to be held that night (July 12th) a
request for approval to advertise for bids for the TV and cleaning
work to be done in conjunction with the sewer infiltration problem.
City Manager Marant then summarized the problems at the water treatment
plant explaining that it is almost thirty years old and needs recondi-
tioning to improve operations.
The City Manager and the City Engineer updated status reports for the
Commission having already received approval to go out for bids.with
regard to the rehabilitation of the water treatment plant.
The workshop meeting was then adjourned.
