suggested to the Acting City Manager that we have a meeting.
Commissioner Grammer was there at the time, and it came out
under my name as calling the meeting. I just want to clarify
whether or not everything is legal.
Attorney Walden: It is a legal meeting with all the Commis-

Acting City Manager Thornhill: May I read a letter? As you
know, we have been putting trees on the right-of-way along S.W.
4th Avenue. Mr. Brooks was in yesterday and talked to me about
the dirt that is down there. It is good soil, and he said that
if we had it on the East side of the trees that it would help us
to grow some grass there. He gave me a price on doing the work.
I would like. to read his letter. . . . .
" Persuant to conversation of Wednesday, November 18,
in regards to top-dressing of right-of-way on S.W. 4th
Avenue. I have viewed the area and feel that this work
could be done for approximately $400.00 using the soil
I have left over from planting Md]allucca Trees and
Hibiscus. The writer would donate the above mentioned
soil and will supply the labor at the above mentioned
price, provided the city will run their mower over this
area first.
/s/ William Brooks "
'+ Commissioner Grammer: I think the $400.00 could be spent in a
different part of the city where it would need more improvement
than it would there.
Commissioner Hill: Do we need any definite action on it?
r" Commissioner Young: No, I don't believe we need any action on it.
Acting City Manager Thornhill: I'll just tell him the Commissioners
1;< will not be interested in it.
Commissioner Zenobia: I was wondering if all the Commissioners
could get together one day next week and go over those applica-
tions for City Manager. It would be a good idea if we did it
together.
Commissioner Hill: How many do we have now?
Y
City Clerk Mary Thornhill: We had two more come in this morning,
which makes about a dozen.
Commissioner Young: Why don't we look them over individually,
then we can get together and decide.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
