® HELD JULY 15, 1964.
The City Commission of the City of Dania, Florida, met in Special
Session in the Commission Room at the City Hall.
Present were: MAYOR-COMMISSIONER VERA L. HILL
COMMISSIONERS ROBERT L. GRAMMER

JOSEPH D. THORNTON
S. ELLIS YOUNG

The meeting was called to order at 10:15 P.M. by Mayor Hill.
0 City Manager Culverson called the meeting for the 'purpose of pass-
ing an ordinance of intent to annex the area north of Dania cut-off
Canal, opposite the DePadro Yacht Basin, north to Port Everglades.
The area contains 570 acres more or less.
Attorney Walden explained the procedure: "Chapter 171.04, Florida
Statutes, 1963, provides for the procedure for annexing unincorpor-
ated lands contiguous to a municipality by the enactment of an or-
dinance declaring its intention and the publication of said ordin-
ance, and the subsequent enactment of an ordinance of annexation to
accomplish the annexation of such lands;, and the tract of land .
sought to be annexed contains less than ten. (10) registered elec
tors ; and the City Commission of the City of Dania, Florida, deems
it in the best interest of those concerned to annex said lands to
the City of Dania, Florida; and it is the unanimous wish of the City
Commissioners present that this ordinance .be passed on all three
readings at the meeting of the City Commission held on July 15, 1964.
0 A motion was made by Commissioner Grammer to declare an emergency
to pass on three readings an ordinance of intent to annex, by unan-
imous consent of all Commissioners present. The motion was second-
ed by Commissioner Young, and the roll being called, the Commission-
ers voted as follows:

City Attorney Walden read the ordinance declaring the intention of
the City of Dania, Florida, to annex certain lands contiguous there-
to pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 171.04, Florida Statutes,
1963, in its entirety. He then readit by title only the second
and third times. He then recommended that paragraph one of the
ordinance be deleted.
A motion was made by Commissioner Grammer to pass i1the ordinance on
first, second, and third readings, deleting paragraph one, as re-
commended by Attorney Walden. The motion was seconded by Commis-
sioner Tarpley, and the roll being called, the Commissioners voted
as follows:

Hill Yes
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
