HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2008-177 Straightline Sidewalk NIAB RESOLUTION NO. 2008-177 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE REPLACEMENT AND INSTALLATION OF SIDEWALK SERVICES IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $200,000.00 IN FISCAL YEAR 2007-2008, FROM STRAIGHTLINE ENGINEERING SERVICES UNDER SOUTHEAST FLORIDA GOVERNMENTAL COOPERATIVE GROUP BID #05-06-012; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Dania Beach, Part III, Article 3, Section 4, Subsection 0), authorizes the City Manager to purchase supplies, services, equipment and materials for the City government in amounts in excess of $25,000.00 without competitive bidding and without advertisement for bids if he is authorized to do so in advance by a resolution adopted by the City Commission; and WHEREAS, the scope of services for this project involves the purchase and installation of sidewalk construction services as part of the Neighborhood Improvement Advisory Board (NIAB)Project of the City as designated by Chen and Associates, Inc.; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined that it is necessary to install sidewalks as part of the City's NLAB Project; and WHEREAS, funding for this project will come from the Neighborhood Improvement General Obligation Bond Program funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the City Manager is authorized to pay an amount not to exceed the total sum of $200,000.00 for sidewalk replacement and installation services to Straightline Engineering Services and the proper City officials are authorized to execute the contract for the work; provided, however that no contract will become effective unless and until City officials complete their execution of it. Section 2. That the funding will be derived from the applicable General Obligation Bond proceeds. Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 4.
