IN THE CITY HALL a meeting of the City Council of the City of Dania Florida was held Tuesday morning October 18, A.D.1927 at 10 o 'clock pursuant to adjournment of the meeting held October 12th A.D.1927. The following were present Harry T. Tubbs, Mayor. A. J.Ryan, Councilman W.C.Barnett, Councilman, E. S. Tabbs, Councilman Councilmen John B. Gregory and O.S.Peck were absent from the meeting. The following also were present: Raymond T. Skinner, City Clerk T.D.Ellis, Jr. ,City Attorney Mayor Tubbs called the meeting to order. The minutes of the meeting held October 12th 1927 were z=ztxzx&xappaaxs waived. The City Clerk read the certificate of result of the primary election held October 17, A.D.1927 as follows: CERTIFICATE OF RESULT OF PRIMARY ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF DANIA FLORIDA OCTOBER 17, A.D. 1927. TO THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DANIA,FLORIDA: We, the undersigned Inspectors and Clerk of the Primary Election + held this day in the City of Dania, Florida, after a complete count of the ballots cast in said election, and after publicly proclaiming the results of said election do herely certify that the result of said election is as follows: For Mayor: G.A.Frost,96; O.C.Hansell, 37; A.C.O'Hea,143 and S.B. Jones.,70. For Councilmen: T.R.Brown,141; J.M.Bryan, 171; M.0.Frost,178; J.B. Gregory,221; J.ld.Holding,179; R.L. Jones, 160; F.L.Neville,218; O. S. Peck, 229 and A. J.Ryan,116. For Chief of Police: S.L.Barfield,194; R. S.Humphrey,135 and R.R.iEAft Ledford,l6 For City Clerk; R. T.Skinner, 297. • For Tax Assessor: J.S.Odom, 300.. Crippen J.K.htathews Inspector Clerk Councilman Tubbs made a motion that the Council canvass the vote cast at the primary election. The motion was seconded by Councilman Barnett and upon being put to a vote was carried unanimously. Whereupon the council canvassed the vote as follows, the members affixing their signatures to the official canvas+ CANVAS OF PRIIdARY ELECTION HELD WITHIN THE CITY OF DANIA FLORIDA, ON THE 17th DAY OF OCTOBER A.D.1927,AND RETURN OF RESULTS THEREON BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DANIA FLORIDA. We, the undersigned, being duly qualified Councilmen of the City of Dania Florida, do hereby certify that at a meeting of the Council held on the 18th day of October A.D.1927, we canvassed the result of the Primary Election held in the City of Dania, Florida, on the 17th > day of October A.D.1927 at which election the nomination pf candidates to be voted on at the General Election November 1st, 1927, for the a- respective offices of the City of Dania, Florida was submitted to the duly qualified voters of the City of Dania, Florida. The number of votes cast for each candidate according to the return of the Inspectors and Clark of said election was as follows: For Mayor: G.A.Frost, 96; O.C.Hansell, 37; S.B. Jones, 70; A.C. O'Hea, 143. For Councilmen: T.R.Brown,141; J.L4.Bryan, 171; M.C.Frost,178; J.B.Gregory, 221; J.1d.Holding,179; R.L. Jones, 160; F.L.Neville, 218; O.S.Peok, 229; A. J.Ryan, 116. For Chief of Police; S.L.Barfield, 194; E.S.Humphrey, 135; R.R. Ledford, 16. For City Clerk: R. T. Skinner, 297. For Tax Assessor, J. S.Odom, 300. Ballots Spoiled, 6. The City Council find and certify that the result of the votes cast by the dyly qualified electors voting at said election were that the following were nominated for the offices respectively as follows; For Mayor: G.A.Frost and A.C.O'Hea. For Councilmen: T.R.Brown, J.M.Bryan, M.O.Frost, J.B.Gregory, J.M.Holding, R.L. Jones, F.L.Neville, O.S.Peok, A. J.Ryan. For Chief of Police: S.L.Barfield and H. S.Humphrey. Eir City Clerk: H.T. Skinner. For Tax Assessor, J. S.Odom. The City Clerk will, therefore, prepare the ballots for the General Election to be held November let, 1927, and will place thereon the names of the candidates so nominated. Tubbs W.C.Barnett Councilman Councilman TP The City Clerk then read the following resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE ADVERTISING OF NOTICE OF SALE OF BONDS OF THE CITY OF DANIA FLORIDA IN THE AMOUNT OF WO,000.00 BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Dania, Florida: Section 1. That the City manager be and he is hereby authorized and directed to give notice of sale of the Bonds of the City of Dania Florida in the amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars (�5O,000.00) , by publishing notice of Sale of said bonds once each week for three consecutive weeks in the Fort Lauderdale Daily News, a' newspaper of general circulation in Broward County Florida and in the City of Dania Florida,. The date of said sale to be the 3rd day of November, L.D,1927. Section 2. Said Notice shall be substantially in the following form: NOTICE OF SALE OF BONDS OF THE CITY OF DANIA? FLORIDA. Notice is hereby given that bids will be received by the City Manager of the City of Dania, Florida, intil 12 o 'clock noon on the 3rd day of November A.D.1927t� for the sale and purchase of Fifty Thousand Dollars (�50,000.00) of negotiable coupon bonds of the City of Dania, Floridat Said Bonds provide the necessary funds for "Municipal Purposes" of the City of Dania, Florida, and are dated Beptember 12, A.D.1927. Said Bonds are in the denomination of One Thousand Dollars (�1,000.00) each and are numbered from One ( 1) to Fifty ( 50) inclusive, and bear interest at the rate of six per cent (6q4 per annum payable semi-annually upon the 12th days of September and March respectively za of each year.Both principal and interest of said bonds is payable at the Chase National Bank of the City of New York, state of New York. The principal of said bonds matures and becomes due and payable as follows: Numbers 1 to 5 shall mature and be payable September 12,1947 Numbers 6 to 10 shall mature and be payable September 12,19a8 Numbers 11 to 15 shall mature and be payable September 12,1949 Numbers 16 to 20 shall mature and be payable September 12,1950 Numbers 21 to 25 shall mature and be payable September 12,1951 Numbers 26 to 30 Shall mature and be payable September 12,1952 Numbers 31 to 35 shall mature and be payable September 12,1953 Numbers 36 to 40shall mature and be payable September 12,1954 Numbers 41 to 45 shall mature and be payable September 12,1956 Numbers 46 to 50 shall mature and be payable September 12,1957 All proposals must be accompanied by a certified check on a reputable State or National bank for ten per cent (10%) of the r amount of the bid and must be deposited with the City Manager of the City of Dania, Florida by 12 o 'clock noon November 3rd, 1927. This issue of bonds was validated and confirmed on the 14th day of October A.D.1927 by Decree of the Circuit Court in and for Broward County, Florida. The right to reject any and all bids in the interest of the • City of Dania, Florida, is hereby reserved. Details may be hed at the City Hall upon application. This Resolution shall take effect and be is force from and after its passage. Passed and adopted this 18th day of October, A.D.1927. The motion was seconded by Councilman Ryan and upon being put to a vote was carried unanimously. The City Clerk then read the following resolution entitled: , A RESOLUTION APPOINTING I.To.PAMB TREAHURER OF THE CITY OF DANIA FLORIDA BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Dania, Florida: Section 1. That I.T.Parker be and he hereby is appointed Treasurer of the City of Dania, Florida. Section 2. All Resolutions or parts of resolutions. in conflict herewith are repealed hereby. Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. Teased and adopted this 18th day of October, A.D.1927. Councilman Tubbs seconded the motion and upon being put to a se vote, the resolution was adopted unanimously. S��Sr The City Clerk then read the following resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR INSPECTORS AND CLERK. OF THE GENERIC ELECTION TO BE HELD WITHIN THE CITY OF DANIA FLORIDA NOV.1, 1927 BE IT RESOLVED by the City Uouncil of the City of Dania, Florida; Section 1. That there are hereby designated and appointed by the City Council of the City of Dania, Florida, the following Inspectors and clerk who are authorized to act in their respective capacity in the General Election to be held on the let day of November, A.D.1927, in the City of Dania, Florida. Inspectors: E.L.Sessions,George Demro, Sam Blackwelder. Clerk: James C. Conner Section 2. In case of inability through sickness or otherwise of any of the above inspectors or clerk to act in the capacity above indicated, the following substitute inspectors and clerk are hereby authorized to act when notified and called by the Chief of Police of the City of Dania. Inspectors: A.M.LaBree, J.C*Westbrook, W.R.Howat. Clerk:Edwin Hensen. Section 3. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are repealed hereby. Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its passage and adoption and its approval by the mayor. .Approved: Mayor Mayor city ClerlE Councilman Ryan made a motion that the resolution be adopted as read. The motion was seconded by Councilman Barnett and upon being put to a vote the resolution visa adopted unanimously. Councilman Barnett made a motion to adjourn.
