FLORIDA HELD SATURDAY JANUARY 14th 4.D.1928 at 8
An adjourned meeting of the city council of the City of Dania
Florida was held Saturday January 14, 1928 at 8 P.1v1. in the City Hall
pursuant to adjournment of the meeting held January 5, 1928. The
following were present:
f.L.Beville, Mayor Pro-tem
John B. Gregory, 0ouncilman
O. S.Peck, Councilman
J.M.Holding Uouncilman
Mayor O 'Hea was absent from the meeting.
The following also were present:
Raymond T. Skinner, City Clerk
T.D.Ellis, Jr. , Uity Attorney
Mayor-Pro-tem Neville called the meeting to order.
Councilman Peak announced that he had interviewed T.rc.Brown and
that he had agreed to serve on the council whereupon Councilman
Z1 Gregory Mr. Thomas it. Brown be-appoinUd• as a
member of the City Uouneil of the City of Dania, Florida to fill theRrW'A A
vacancy left by the resignation of M.C.Frost. The me-ia waded
by councilman Pock and upon being put to a vote of the council was
unanimously o<arzle fjtit of
Mr. Drown was then administered the oath of office of councilman
by T.D.Ellis, Jr. notary public for the state of Florida.
Lir. King, representative of the Gamewell Company, builders of
fire and police alarm systems appeared before the council and submitted
a proposition from his company for the furnishing of fire Alarm
Apparatus for the Uity of Dania, for the sum of :�2,718.60. following
a discussion of the alarm system, Councilman Peck made a motion that
the bid of the Gamewell Company be accepted and that the City Manager
be authorized to enter into a contract for the purchase of the
equipment. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gregory and upon
being put to a vote of the council was unanimously adopted.
Mayor pro-tem Neville reported that the board walk at the beach
had been undermined and could be repaired for about y35.00. Uouncilman
Gregory made a motion that the City manager be authorized to have
the walk repaired. The motion was seconded by Councilman Brown and upon
being put to a vote of the council was unanimously adopted.
Councilman Peok made a motion that the council adjourn to meet
again Thursday January 19, 1928 at 8 P.M. The motion was seconded by
councilman Brown and unanimously carried.
