d special meeting of the City Council of the City of Dania, Florida
was held Tuesday January 29th r.D.1929 in the City Hcll on call of Mayor
Boehm. The following were present:
James I. Boehm, Mayor
John B. Gregory, Councilman
Z.T.Ellis, Councilman
.A. :?.Lindsley, Councilman
J.1a.Holding Councilman
F.L.Neville, Councilman
The following also were present:
R. T. Skinner, City Clerk
L4cyor Boehm called the meeting to ordex'.
Minutes of the meetings held January 10 and January 15, 1929 were .
read and approved.
Councilman Lindsley made a motion that the tax assessor be paid
the sum of .200.00 for his work during the year of 1929. The motion was
seconded by Councilman Ellis and unanimously carried.
Councilman Lindsley, chairman of the water committee then opened and
read the bids on painting the water tank as follows:
Jake Bencer, Material and labor "165.00; Labor only, 420.00
J.V•J. Gibson, Ltatmrial and labor 169,00; Labor only 129.00
N.31.Brown, Material and labor y186.00; Labor only �126.00
Councilman Neville made a motion that the bid of Jake Bencer be
accepted and that he be awarded the contract for 1,y165.00. The motion was
seconded by Councilman Ellis and unanimously carried.
Qouncilman Holding made a motion that the old engine in the pump
house be repaired and placed in working order for an emergency. The
motion was seconded by CouncilmanGregory and unanimously carried.
Councilman Neville made a motion that the City Clerk arrange with
the City of Hollywood for a man to tend the water works plant during the
night while Dania is pumping water to Hollywood. The motion was seconded
by Councilman Lindsley and unanimously adopted.
Councilman Lindsley made a motion that the council set up a sinking
fund similar to the trust fund agreement with Hollywood; for the
' 50,000.00 bond issue of Dania. The motion was seconded by Councilman
Holding and unanimously adopted.
Councilman Lindsley made a motion that the city furnish water free
to the churches in the city. The motion was seconded by Councilman Neville
Raiding and unanimously adopted.
The following bills were approved end ordered paid:
R. T.Skinner salary for L+onth v'165.00,v
Pearl Sparkman, salary for month 50.00-�,
Sidney Mullikin, salary 100.00r—
S.1.Barfield, Salary 125.001\1
Otis Thornhill, salary 120.00O,-
Troy Robinson, wages for month 48.00
Gus Harvey, Wages for month 48.00
John L. Bond, water repairs 57.06r

"I Councilman Ellis made a motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded
by councilman Noville and unanimously carried. j
