]fleeting called to order by Mayor Brooke at 7:30 p.m.
Discussed the rezoning of Lots 1-16, Block 2, and Lots 1-8,
Block 3, Hollywood Center from B yesidence to B business; also
the removal of the 15 ft. alley in the rear of these lots.
Tabled until all property owners could .be notified.
Discussed zoning property north of the Dania Cutoff Canal,
which heretofore had not been zoned. Motion by Councilman LaBree .
that all further permits be waived until such time as a zoning
board could meet to zone this property; seconded by Councilman
Ryan and carried. City Lianager Sparkman was authorized to contact
all the property owners north of the Dania Cutoff Canal in reference
to zoning.
Mr. Sparkman reported on the paving of Sheridan St. After dis-
cussion, Councilman Parkhurst moved that the City Manager be au-
thorized to draw up specifications to pave Sheridan St. ; seconded
by Councilman LaBree and carried.
Discussed the appointment of a tax assessor. After discussion,
Councilman Ryan moved that the City Manager be authorized to order
plats of subdivisions 1 in book form from the County Clerk;
seconded by Councilman Parkhurst and carried.
Councilman La Bree reported for the committee which had been ap-
pointed to investigate the Helpy-Selfy Laundry in Fort Lauderdale
and Hollywood, as fo11o%-Is: A Helpy Selfy Laundry is not permitted
in Hollywood unless the waste water empties into a sewer. In Ft.
Lauderdale, there was nothing objectionable to the Laundry that
emptied into a sewer, nor anything objectionable to the
laundry

the drainage wasn't satisfactory. After discussion, the Council
requested Mr. Heath to investigate the possibility of piping his

A telegram was read from Dwight L. Rogers aditising of Federal
approval of advance planning funds for the water project.
Discussed the beach project, and whether to go to the expense
of holding a referendum election, or whether to hold a mass
meeting at which the people could discuss their views. After
discussion, the City Manager was authorized to schedule a mass
meeting at the Community House either the 13th or 14th of March.

The Clerk presented the bills for the month of February.
Councilman Ryan moved that bills be paid; seconded by Councilman
Parkhurst and carried.
There being no further business, meeting was recessed.
