Spencer Meeting called to order by Mayor Brooke at 7:30 p.m. Minutes of meeting'held February lop read, corrected, ap- proved as corrected, and ordered adopted. Russell Wattles, President of the chamber of Commerce came before the Council and thanked them for their cooperation in helping put on the Tomato Day. . certain J. W. Gill, spokesman for/property owners in the vicinity of the proposed Helpy-Selfy Laundry, stated that the location of the Laundry would be a detriment to the surrounding propdrties. J. E. Heath appeared and presented a petition signed by residents and property owners who stated that they were in favor of the Helpy Selfy laundry as proposed and located. After discussion, tabled until all Councilmen were present. 1,iayor Brooke appointed A. M. LaBree, C.- S. Parkhurst and Lincoln ncoln Frost laundries Hollywood ttee to investigate the existing Helpy- f�J and Fort Lauderdale, to determine how these cities viewed a laundry of this type, and to report to the Council at t meeting. t Logan Eisele made aq#iport on the progress of his project at the beach. His engiT;eer h+.d made a survey but wanted a legal deser4ption of all the parcels of land owned by the city in order that his survey could be checked with the city owned land. gayor Brooke authorized Attorney Ellis to have an abs- tract brought up to date on all city owned property at the beach. A petition was presented by Mr. and Mrs . A. Lemenu request= ing the rezoning of Blocks 2 and 31 Hollywood Center from A. residence area to B business, and further requested that alley be eliminated. Motion by Councilman LaBree to table until the entire council was present; seconded by Councilman_ Parkhurst and carried. Councilman Parkhurst pointed out the need for three stop lights on the Federal Highway one of which should be located at the Davie Road intersection; one at Dania beach road inter- section and one at 2nd St. No. intersection. Councilman Park- hurst moved that one more stop light be ordered at as satrreceived seconded by eis determined, Councilman LaBree and carried. Fire Chief 11. P. Brook stated that the fire dept. was ready to expand the alarm system to give more coverage for fires. The city Manager was requested to write to the FEC railroad for permission_ to have a conduit cross under the railroad at the Davie Road. Motion by Councilman LaBree that fire alarm boxes be pur- chased when available; seconded by Councilman. Parkhurst and carried.
