lie reported that he had a tentative meeting with the U.S.
Navy,- to spray the county with DDT; that the Navy was ready to start
when the lWilicipalities authorized them to go ahead, provided the
1iuni.cipalities accepted the responsibility for the spraying of
shrubbery and live stock, and that the llawi could assume responsi-
bility for the planes and the operators. Councilman Parkhurst moved
that Llayor Kelly be authorized to 31Crl contract for the necessary
papers authorizing the Idavyr to spray DDT for mosquito control. The
motion was seconded by Councilman Ryan and carried.
Mr. Ryan reported that a new au;cilicry water pump was needed
and recommended that the Clerk. get in touch with engineers with the
different companies handling pumps and obtain their recommendation
as to the type of pump to be installed, r:lso that the Cleric get in
touch vrith Smith and Gillespie and fret their opinion as to the t;rpe
of pump to be purchased in order that it might comply with the pro-
posed water expansion. Cour.cilmmi k;rool.e moved that the Clerks be
instructed to have the work done or the garbage cleanup, and that
Llalcolm IIoldingIs bulldozer be hired to do the v,ork. Notion sec-
