HELD WEDNESDAY AUGUST 8th 1945,

Meeting called to order by Mayor Kelly at 8:00 P.M.
Minutes of meetings held during the month of July, read
approved as read and ordered adopted.
The Cleric Presented an Application for a Package Liquor Store
for Essie Mae Brown, for the Councils approval.
Councilman Parkhurst moved that the license be granted motion
seconded by Councilman Ryan and carried.
The Clerk presented an application for a Liquor package store
for the Hitching Post and an application for a Liquor License for
the 2ted Wagon Wheel Barbe cue Stand. Councilman Parkhurst moved
that licenses be granted motion seconded by Councilman Ryan and
carried.
Mayor Kelly left the meeting at this time and turned the
chair over to Mayor Pro-Tem Brooke.
The Clerk requested that a decision be made on the purchase
of tax sale certificates by B1r.A1 Morford on lots 1,2,&3 of
Block 28 Tovra of Dania, Councilman Ryan moved that the Tax
Assessor make adjustments and report them to the Council, motion
seconded by Councilman Parkhurst and carried.
Mir. R.A.Piattles came before the council in reguards to Red
Cross storm emergency and requested that the City appoint emergency
police officers to serve twenty four hour duty during a storm
allert. Councilman Parkhurst aggreed to make these appointments.
Mr Berry came before the Council and presented a plat of
3ic'tory Heights for the Councils approval. Councilman Ryan
moved that platt be aecpted and approved motion seconded by
Councilman Parkhurst and carried.

Mr. Heckert came before the Council and reported on street
and clean up work. lie reccomended that opening graves be raised
and that street signs be painted for street entersections.
Councilman Parkhurst moved that opening graves in the Cemetary
be set at 1.00 for infants, 10.00 for Regular and 15.00 for
8 graves. Notion seconded by Councilman Ryan and carried.
Councilman kyan moved that painting of signs be refered to
the Street Committee and they have signs painted where needed,
Motion seconded by. Councilrian Parker and carried.
Councilman Ryan moved that n meter be placed on City Docks
charge regular rate to Yr.Frost for the use. Motion seconded
by Councilman Parkhurst and' carried.
Mr. Heidt came before the Council and requested that the
Council use its influence to have the Hollywood Buss run to
Ft.Lauderdale in order that the Girls working up there would
have transportation. Mr.Heidt was informed that a strip of land
lying between the City limits of Dania and Ft.Lauderdale was in
neither City limits and that the Cit*es had no Jurisdiction over
th&I streach of Highway but would do all they could to have
this service.
Mr. w.P.Brook came before the Council and reported that the
Volunteer fitre Dept. had been authorized to releave the Fireman
on Sundays but no fee for their services had been set.
Councilman Ryan moved that a fee of 25.00 be paid the volunteer
fire Dept# for services each month releaving fireman on Sunday.
Motion seconded by Councilman Parkhurst and carried.
