Meeting called to order by Mayor Kelly at 8:00 P.M.
Minutes of meetings held during the month of y read,
approved as read and ordered addopted.
Mayor Kelly reported that he had contacted Mr. Swindell in
reguards to installing a pay station telephone in the City Hall,
and that he had promised to install one as soon as one was avail-
able. He also reported that he had contacted Miss Coon in reguards
to accepting a position in the tax dept. and that She had declined
the offer due to her health.
Mr.Botting came before the Council and requested that the
weeds and trash on vacant lots in North St.James park be cleaned up
and that S.E.14th street be paived. Mr.Botting was informed that
the Council was working on a plan to clean up the City as a whole and
that S.E.14th street would be paived as soon as finances would allow.
Mr.Nolan Hill came before the Council and complained about
the Dust and Dirt and the unsightly condition of the Apex roofing
Companys, caused by manafacturing tile in a residence neighbor-hood,
also about the noise caused by this company, Ile presented a petition
signed by souroundiiig property owners to sustain his complaints.
After discussion the matter was turned over to Attorney Ellis
for advice as to the proceedure to follow to rectify these complaints
Mr.Gillespie of Smith and Gillespie Engineers, came before
the Council and presented plans, surveys, and reccomendations for
proposed alteration, and extentions to the Water system, Mr. Gill-
espie explained these reports and reccomendations.
A Resolution was read authorizing gmitii^-and Gillespie to
apply under the George Daughton act for Government Rinds to pay
for Plans for water work improvements and extentions, Councilman
Ryan moved that Resolution be passed and adopted as read, motion
seconded by Councilman Brooke and carried.
An Ordinance was read prohibiting the keeping of live stock
within the City Limits East of the F.E,C.R.R. Rightway. after
discussion ordinance was tabled for further discussion.

The Clerk presented an application from •Mrs. Harris for
a reduction or discount on taxes on A.C.Frost Estate. The Council
instructed the Clerk to inform Mrs. Harris that no further discounts
could be allowed other than that already allowed.
The Clerk Presented an Application for a Liquor License for
H.H.Morris, location Banyan. Councilman Ryan Moved that license
be granted to take affect October 111945, Motion seconded by
Councilman Brooke and carried.
A Resolution was read approving a Legislature Bill grantidg
a juvitlille Court for Broward County, Councilman Parkhurst moved
that Resolution be passed and adopted as read, Motion seconded
by Councilman Parker and carried.
A Letter was read from the City Council of Miami Beach Fla,
informing the City Council of Dania, that they proposed to pur-
chase the Gas Plant at Nobkh Miami Beach from the Peoples water
and Gas Co. Tabled.
A Letter was read From Mrs. A.V.Forsythe requesting that the
alley between S.W.13th Street and S.17.14th Street be rocked.
The Clerk was instructed to repair the alley when it could be
done.
The Clerk presented the following Bills for the Month of March.

Councilman Parkhurst moved that bills be paid as listed, motion
seconded by Councilman Brooke and carried.
Councilman Ryan reported that the Council had not appointed a
tax assessor for the 1945 tax roll and reccomended that hSr.Henry
Hansell be appointed at a salary of $500.00 for the Roll, which
Mr.Hansell had agreed to accept.
Councilman Ryan moved that Mr. Henry Hansell be appointed as
tax assessor for the 1945 tax roll at a salary of ' 500.00 for the
roll, Motion was seconded by CouncilmanBrooke and upon roll call
Councilmen voted as follows;-
