A Quorum not being present meeting was recessed until a' later date. 4 MINUTES OF RECESSED MEETING- OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DANIA,FLORIDA, HELD WED, Feb.7,1945. Present;- Mayor George W.Kelly Councilmen; A.J.Ryan C.S.Parkhurst Leonard Brooke W.S.Parker, Attorney T.D.Eilis Jr. Clerk g.R.Mullikin. Meeting called to order by Mayor Kelly at 8:00 P.M. Minutes of meetings held during the month of January read,councilmanIn iRyansion Movedi the mutes of Meeting that Minutes be amended tolr ad that the d January h Canal south of the Dania Beach road running from within the City limits of Dania to the inter-coastal canal was constructed for the purpose of obtaining material for constructing the beach road and for transpotation of small boats and not for a drainage canal motion seconded by Councilman Parkhurst and carried. Councilmen Parkhurst moved that minutes be approved as amended. motion seconded by Councilman Brooke and carried. Mr. A.M.LaBree came before the Council and presented a Certified copy of a plat showing Pasedenia in hollywood being replated into a creage, Councilman Ryan moved that Plat be acepted, on advice of Attorney Ellis that the plat showed the approval of the City in 1929 and carried the Si�ature of the Mayor and City Clerk that a motion to adopt or approve was not necessary motion died for want of a second. A report from Mr.H.C.Davis, County Engineer, on filling of canal on the South side of Beach Road was read and coun- cilman Ryan reccomend.ed that Mr Davis report be complied with and that the canal be filled to the City Limits. I.tr.Mccollougft came before the Council and requested that S.E.7th street be paived, He reported that he paid considerablE taxes In lots on this street, that this street was used by the farmers in hauling their produce and that in dry dusty weather the dust was ruining his home. Matter was tabled until a later date. Councilman Parkhurst moved that resolution be passed and adopted as read, motion seconded by Councilman Brooke and upon roll call Councilmen voted as follows,.l. Brooke Aye, Parkhurst aye, Ryan No, Parker No, Kelly aye, Resolution .ordered passed and adopted upon the approval of the mayor. Councilman Parkhurst reported that the Volunteer Fire Depto nd had requested that the City Purchase a fog nozzle, He reccome.. that it be purchased. Councilman Parkhurst moved that the city purchase a fog nozzle, Notion seconded by Councilman Ryan and carried. Councilman Ryan reported that he had had several complaints about being placed on the sidewalk ap containers and tbree n d other rubbish breedings g which ich was a nuiscannce. Councilman Brooke moved that the Clerk be instructed to notify mr.Breeding that trash and garbage wbeliignpiobadoen,sidowalk was a nuiscance and unsanitary and request him to burn it on a vacant lot or dispose of it in other ways or place in a place where the City's Garbage Truck can Piuk it up on regular pick up days, motion Seconded by Councilman Ryan and carried. Oouncilmen Brooke reported that the City+s Garbage Dump was very dirty and in an unsanitary condition,. that orange refuse and Chicken farm cleanings were being dumped on or near the road. instead of in the lit. causeing an obnoxious odor and flies* Chief of police Henson was instructed to notify the munsons Groves not to dump orange refuse on the Dania Dumping Grounds as they were in Hollywood and to Notify°the Boehm, Chicken farm to dump in the pit rather than in the' road or near it. The Clerk was instructed to have a sign made giving instructions to dump in the pit and not near tho road. The Clerk presented the following bills forJanuary.
