Craig McAdams suggested that some provision be made for Dania Beach residents to be able to dispose of their unwanted boats through the city public works department. This would help to relieve some of the burden on the Sheriffs Office. It was stressed that documentation insofar as boat ownership be established to make sure no stolen boats were included. After considerable discussion a motion was made by Craig McAdams, seconded by Mark Latimer and carried that"Public works include derelict registered boats in the refuse items accepted at the Dania Beach disposal area on Saturdays." Officer McClusky mentioned that would be an ideal location for the patrol boat if the city does take over the marina. Capt. Morris promised to keep Officer McClusky informed of any developments in this regard. Capt. Morris reminded those present that the board had previously decided to present Officer McClusky a letter of commendation in appreciation of all the work he has done and all the money he has saved the city.
