Chairman Taylor and Mayor Arton led the dredging discussion. The project is
being handled by Taylor Engineering. (No relation to Clive Taylor). Present plans
crll for dredging to 75 feet wide and 14 feet deep. The proposed area is from Port
Everglades to the US#l bridgc A number of the aspects involved were discussed
including the elfect the dredging would have on the people living along the canal
banks, the problem of erosion, the costs involved, the correction ofthe dangerous
condition that presently exists under the US#l bridge, as well as whether or not the
dredging should be extended even further west than planned. Mayor Anton and
Chairman Taylor both stressed that Dania Beach is recognized as being supportive
of the marine industry. Mayor Anton said use of the spoils from extended dredging
should not be an issue because they would be minimal compared to the amount from
the dredging already approved by the County. Mayor Anton also said he felt the
City should meet with the commercial mrrine interests concernhg involvement itr
the cost of extended dredging. The disposition of the Clay Shaw property issue was
briefly mentioned. It was obvious the dredging project still needs to be carefully
studied.

Deputy Riddle reported a grant for $tE,550 was awarded to cover the derelict boat
and barge problem. Members of the Board were very pleased with all Deputy
Riddle has accomplished and complimented him on clearing out the vegetation and
creating an outstanding apperrance.
Louis Webbs previous suggestion in regard to changing the traflic flow at the ramp
located at Grffin Road snd 30th Avenue was withdrawn. After careful
consideration he decided the situation should remain as it is. Othertise the turn
would be too tight for anything larger then 25 foot.
There being no further business to discuss, Chairman Taylor adjourned the meeting
