Thank you. MINUTES City of Dania Beach Green Advisory Board Regular Meeting Wednesday, September 22, 2021 5:15 PM The meeting was called to order at 5:15 PM. 1. ROLL CALL: Board Members Staff Laura Lombardo, Chair Present Richard Lorber, Planning & Zoning Manager Charlene Hogan Present Corinne Lajoie, Assistant Director Kasia Johnson Absent Alexis Guillen Present 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Green Advisory Board – August 18, 2021 regular meeting. Motion was made by Laura / seconded by Alexis. Motion passed 3-0. 2. CITIZENS’ COMMENTS: 3. NEW BUSINESS: 4. OLD BUSINESS: Budget discussion – Waterway cleanup – no pricing, numbers, how installed Events – getting local people to enroll in the adopt a canal program Quarterly cleanup event for $400 marketing Advertising dollars – promised? Relationship with PIO – Procurement requires specifics for spending Social Media spending – Alexis would develop the items Money would be used for upgrading the reach of PIO messaging Specific list for Board – itemize 5. DISCUSSION/ACTION: Dania Beach Grill workshop last night Mentioned weekly cleanups Success partnership – Bryan Road waterway cleanup – lacked supplies No clampers – 62 participants – lots of garbage 267 lbs. of trash Future events could be promoted by PIO Mesh bags might be better than buckets for some waterway cleanups Future cleanups – proposed Earth Day Friday April 22nd. Weekend before. September 17th World Cleanup Day – Send the Board notices of future cleanups Boat issues with Laura barnacles oysters under dock reefs Alexis - NOAA grant programs – Adopt a street – adopt a waterway Sanatation background – Marine Advisory Board too Corporate sponsor - Vervet Monkey event at brewery GAB website look at for updating  Next GAB Regular Meeting is Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 5:15 p.m. 6. ADJOURNMENT: Motion was made by Board Member Lombardo to adjourn the meeting at 6:10 PM and it was seconded by Board Member Guillen. Motion passed 3-0.
