The meeting was called to order at 5:15 PM.
1. ROLL CALL:

2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Green Advisory Board – August 18, 2021 regular meeting.
Motion was made by Laura / seconded by Alexis. Motion passed 3-0.

Budget discussion –
Waterway cleanup – no pricing, numbers, how installed
Events – getting local people to enroll in the adopt a canal program
Quarterly cleanup event for $400 marketing
Advertising dollars – promised?
Relationship with PIO –
Procurement requires specifics for spending
Social Media spending – Alexis would develop the items
Money would be used for upgrading the reach of PIO messaging

5. DISCUSSION/ACTION:
Dania Beach Grill workshop last night
Mentioned weekly cleanups
Success partnership – Bryan Road waterway cleanup – lacked supplies
No clampers – 62 participants – lots of garbage 267 lbs. of trash
Future events could be promoted by PIO
Mesh bags might be better than buckets for some waterway cleanups
Future cleanups – proposed Earth Day Friday April 22nd. Weekend before.
September 17th World Cleanup Day –
Send the Board notices of future cleanups
Boat issues with Laura barnacles oysters under dock reefs
Alexis - NOAA grant programs –
Adopt a street – adopt a waterway Sanatation background – Marine Advisory Board too

6. ADJOURNMENT:
Motion was made by Board Member Lombardo to adjourn the meeting at 6:10 PM and it was seconded
by Board Member Guillen. Motion passed 3-0.

plastic use. The NOAA Marine Debris Program is hosting a two-day webinar with current and past grantees who will share their
challenges and lessons learned around approaching restaurants, reducing plastics, maintaining long-term relationships, and
sharing resources.
