AT THIS MEETING OR HEARING WILL NEED A RECORD OF THE PROCEEDINGS,AND FOR SUCH PURPOSE MAY NEED TO ENSURE THAT A VERBATIM RECORD OF
THE PROCEEDINGS IS MADE WHICH RECORD INCLUDES THE TESTIMONY AND EVIDENCE UPON WHICH THE APPEAL IS TO BE BASED.

Motion made by Patrick Schilling to excuse Lottye Crooms, seconded by Angeline Flowers.
Motion passed unanimously.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Approval of the minutes from the April, May, June, July,
August, September, October, November and December 2007 Planning and Zoning Advisory
Board meetings and approval of the minutes from the November Local Planning Agency Board.
Hearing no further discussion, a motion was made by Patrick Schilling, seconded by Edward
Bourgeois to recommend approval of the minutes for April, May, June, July, August, September,
October, November and December 2007 Planning and Zoning Advisory Board meetings and
approval of the minutes from the November Local Planning Agency Board. Motion passed
unanimously.
PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD ITEMS
1) Request by applicant to withdraw item. Charles Sieger Vice President representing BSG
Development Corporation for property owner Lawrence O. Turner Jr. for property generally
located on the south side of Dania Beach Boulevard approximately 300 feet east of SE 5th
Avenue in the City of Dania Beach. The applicant is requesting the following:
PL-76-07—Request for perimeter plat approval for the"TURNER DANIA" Plat.

5E-51-07 — Special Exception request to allow Hotel-Condo in the TOC-1 Zoning District
including the allocation of Local Activity Center Flex units.
VA-75-07—Variance request for:
1) A height variance from Chapter 28 Article 21.21(f) Rooftop guidelines to allow rooftop
mechanical equipment to exceed 12 feet in vertical height from the rooftop floor elevation
and to permit such equipment to occupy more than 20%of the rooftop area.
SP-20-07—Site plan request for the proposed construction of a 15-story Hotel.
Motion by Edward Bourgeois to recommend approval to withdrawal items, seconded by Patrick
Schilling. Motion to withdraw passed on the following roll call:

Patrick Schilling — yes Paul Fetscher — yes
Laurence Leeds, AICP, Director Community Development informed the Board that he has
tendered his resignation with the City of Dania Beach to pursue another job. The board each
congratulated Larry and thanked him for his fine professionalism and the outstanding effect he
has had on the City.
2) Discussion—Training for Planning and Zoning Advisory Board Members.
Corinne Lajoie addressed the board describing the elements of the comprehensive plan, issues of
statewide interest and Evaluation and appraisal reports. She concluded with Florida's
"Government in the Sunshine Law". Ms. Lajoie asked if the board had any questions or if the
City Attorney had any comments.
Hearing none, Ms. Lajoie concluded her discussion.
UPDATES
City Attorney Thomas Ansbro gave an update on the progress being made with the old Dania
Beach Hotel.
Hearing no further discussion, the meeting was adjourned.
