CITY OF DANIA BEACH
LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY 2004
Wednesday, March 17, 2004
7:00 P.M.
Roll Call—
The Board was advised that Lottye Crooms had notified staff that she was ill and would not be
able to attend tonight's meeting.
Edward Bourgeois Present
George Jason, Vice Chairman Present
Victor Lohmann Absent
Gary Luedtke Present
Motion made by Gary Luedtke to excused Lottye Crooms, seconded by Edward Bourgeois.
Motion passed unanimously.
1) A Public Hearing will be conducted by the Planning and Zoning Advisory Board sitting as the
Local Planning Agency which would change the land use designation for property generally
located east of SE 5 Ave, south of Dania Beach Boulevard, north of Sheridan Ocean Club, and
west of West Lake Park (City of Hollywood) from Low Density Residential (One dwelling unit
per acre)to Conservation.
Laurence Leeds AICP, Director of Community Development described the request for the land
use change. Mr. Leeds described the site as being part of the Westlake Park Ecosystem,
stating that the use of Conservation is more consistent for the site.
At this time Vice Chairman Jason opened the item for public comment. Hearing no one and
seeing no one the public hearing was closed.
Motion made by Gary Luedtke to recommend approval of the land use change, seconded by
Edward Bourgeois.
Motion passed on the following roll call.
