1) The Planning and Zoning Board sitting as the Local Planning Agency will hold a
meeting regarding City of Dania Beach Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR)
draft review.
Laurence Leeds AICP, Director of Community Development addressed the board
describing the city's Evaluation and Appraisal Report (First Draft). Mr. Leeds described
the EAR issues identified by the City Commission as follows:
• Neighborhood Improvement and Redevelopment
(Housing Element)
• Downtown/CRA Redevelopment
(Future Land Use Element)
• Bike Paths/Bike Lanes
(Transportation Element)
• Dania Beach Boulevard/US 1
(Transportation Element)
• Neighborhood Preservation (Airport Expansion)
(Future Land Use Element, Transportation Element)
• Beach Re-nourishment
(Coastal Element, Future Land Use Element)
• Support of Marine Related Uses
(Coastal Element, Future Land Use Element)
• Establish Additional Community Facilities, i.e. Post Office, Regional Park,
Municipal Library (Intergovernmental Coordination Element, Park and Recreation
Element, Capital Improvements Element)
Mr. Leeds concluded his summation by describing the time line for the Evaluation and
Appraisal Report.
Mr. Leeds answered the boards' questions regarding airport expansion, school facilities,
sanitary sewer, housing and marine related uses.

At this time Chairperson Crooms opened the item for public comment. Hearing no one
and seeing no one the public hearing was closed.
Motion made by Victor Lohmann to recommend approval of the Evaluation and
Appraisal Report with the corrections indicated by the board regarding sanitary sewer
and to check into the percentage relating to airport, seconded by George Jason.
Motion passed on the following roll call.
