CITY OF DANIA BEACH
LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY
Wednesday, February 21, 2001

ROLL CALL
1. Amendment of the City of Dania Beach's Comprehensive Plan to adopt an
entirely new Transportation Element.
Laurence Leeds, AICP, Growth Management Director gave a summation to the Board.
Mr. Leeds stated that the most important part of the document is the goals, objectives
and policies. Most of the major roads in the city are under the jurisdiction of the County
or the State. Local city bus service is referenced in the Transportation Element.
Chairman Lohmann suggested adding an objective regarding widening and changing the
foundation structure of the bridge over the canal at US1 and the railroad.
Motion made by Bob Adams to approve the new Transportation Element subject to an
additional objective relating to marine access under Federal Highway Bridge, seconded
by Jason Dubow. Motion passed unanimously.
