MEMBERS PRESENT OTHERS PRESENT Skeet Jernigan, Chairman Luther Sparkman, Zoning Consultant Charles DeMuzzio, Vice Chairman Ray Carvalho George Hewlett MEMBERS ABSENT Loretha Waiters The regular meeting of the Planning & Zoning Board was called to order by Mr. Jernigan. Motion was made by Charles DeMuzzio and seconded by George Hewlett to approve the minutes of the lastregular meeting of October 7 , 1980, as presented; motion was passed on the following roll call vote: Loretha Waiters - Absent George Hewlett - Yes Ray Carvalho - Yes Charles DeMuzzio - Yes Skeet Jernigan - Yes RECOMMENDATIONS TO CITY COMMISSION - Recommendations made at this regular meeting of the Planning & Zoning Board will be submitted to the City Commission for their regular meeting of November 11, 1980. 1. PZ-37-80 - Mr. Jernigan announced the agenda item: "PZ-37-80 - Plat approval is requested by Mr. A. J. Roddy for a proposed plat to be known as "Roddy Dania Plat No. 2" , generally located on Northeast Second Street, one block east of Gulfstream Road and legally described as the East h of the NW4 of the NE4 of the SW4 of Section 35 , Township 50 South, Range 42 East, Broward County, Florida, and containing 4 . 89 acres, more or less. " Mr. A. J. Roddy was present to represent this request for plat o advised the Board that he maintained a 30 foot ap proval. Mr. Roddy PP Y strip along the west property line of "Roddy Dania Plat No. 1" so that he would have access to Plat No. 2 from East Dania Beach Boule- vard. Mr. Sparkman read Paul Maxwell ' s, Building Official, comments on "Roddy Dania Plat No. 2" : He recommended that 30 feet of right-of-way or road easement be required on the north side of the plat (that being Northeast Second Street) ; and that 30 foot right-of-way be dedicated along the west side of subject plat for access to East Dania Beach Boulevard. Mr. Maxwell further commented in his notes that at the present time this plat has no usable road access for NE 2nd Street; it dead ends at the east and west, and that no roa& has been built on the small portion of road right-of-way that exists. Roddy Dania Plat No. 1, to the south does have frontage along East Dania Beach Boulevard. Mr. Sparkman stated that he had discussed this plat with Mr. Maxwell and that the above recommendations are that of Mr. Maxwell ' s as well as of Mr. Sparkman' s. Motion was made by Charles DeMuzzio to recommend approval of the proposed plat of "Roddy Dania Plat No. 2" with 30 foot right-of-way along the west side of the property and 30 foot right-of-way to the north; seconded by George Hewlett and passed unanimously. Mr. Jernigan advised Mr. Roddy to appear before the City Commission on November 11, 1980. OLD BUSINESS 2 . Proposed landscape ordinance - after a brief dissucssion by the Planning & Zoning Board, a workshop meeting was set for Tuesday, November 18 , 1980, at 7 : 00 p.m. for the purpose of discussing the proposed landscape ordinance. Mr. Jernigan requested that the Building Department contact Mr. Bill Brook and persons responsible for enforcing the city of Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale landscape ordinance and ask them to attend this workshop meeting. Mr. Jernigan announced that the Dania Democratic Club would be meeting on November 12 , 1980, at 7 : 00 p.m. at the Frost Park senior citizens building.
