MEMBERS PRESENT OTHERS PRESENT Skeet Jernigan, Chairman Luther Sparkman, Zoning Consultant Sam Calandra Helen Udell Loretha Waiters MEMBERS ABSENT Howard Blackmon The regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Board was called to order by Mr. Jernigan, Chairman. Motion was made by Loretha Waiters to approve the minutes of the last regular meeting of July 7, 1981, as presented; seconded by Sam Calandra, and passed unanimously by a roll call vote with Howard Blackmon being absent. RECOMMENDATIONS TO CITY COMMISSION: Recommendations made at this regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Board will be submitted to the City Commission for the regular City Commission meeting of August 11, 1981. 1. PZ-29-81 - Mr. Jernigan announced the agenda item: "PZ-29-81 - A special exception is requested to allow entertainment (a band, piano bar, Flamenco dancers and guitars) by Chula Corporation d/b/a Chalet 10 Le' for the property located at 368 East Dania Beach Boulevard, a portion of Dania Golf Course subdivision. Subject property is zoned C-2 (commercial) . This request was deferred at the last regular meetin of July 7, 1981. " Maria Christina Ibar of 646 Northeast Second Place came forward to represent this request. She advised that she has a restaurant and lounge at this location which will be opening August 18 , 1981. Mr. Sparkman recommended approval of this special exception request. Motion was made by Sam Calandra to recommend approval of special exception request PZ-29-81 with the stipulation that it be allowed for one year only; seconded by Loretha Waiters and passed unanimously. Mr. Jernigan advised Ms. Ibar to appear before the City Commission on August llth. 2. PZ-35-81 - Mr. Jernigan announced the agenda item: "PZ-35-81 - Request is made by Emmy Lou Brooke for plat approval on the property located at 125 Bryan Road, legally described as the South 200 feet of the North 495 feet of the East 660 feet of the NW4 of the SE4 of Section 31, Township 50 South, Range 42 East, less the East 30 feet thereof for road right-of-way; said lands lying in Dania, Broward County, Florida. Prop sed plat to be known as "IMI Lands" . Subject property is zoned I-G (indust ial, general) . " Motts Berry of M.E. Berry & Associates came forward to represent this plat. He also advised that Emmy Lou Brooke was present. Luther Sparkman recommended approval of this plat request. ' Motion was made by Sam Calandra to recommend approval of PZ-35-81 for plat approval; seconded by Loretha Waiters and passed unanimously. i Mr. Jernigan advised the peitioner to appear before the City Commission on August llth. NEW BUSINESS 3. Mr. Jernigan announced the agenda item: "Discussion of the creation of an RSO (residential single family/office) zoning classification; and ! discussion of revision of industrial zoning classifications; and other zoning classifications to conform to Dania's certified land use plan.
