Parking Meters RESOLUTION NO. 2009-134 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE THREE PARKING METERS FROM PARKEON, INC., A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACTOR, FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $32,774.00 IN FISCAL YEAR 2008-2009; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Dania Beach, Part III, Article 3, Section 4, Subsection 0), authorizes the City Manager to purchase supplies, services, equipment and materials for the City government in amounts in excess of $25,000.00 without competitive bidding and without advertisement for bids if he is authorized to do so in advance by a resolution adopted by the City Commission; and WHEREAS, in the beginning of fiscal year 2008-2009, the City purchased one (1) parking meter and other required supplies from Parkeon, Inc. in the amount of$13,222.41; and WHEREAS, in the Capital Projects fund, the City has provided a budget for two (2) additional parking meters, and Parkeon Inc. is the sole source vendor for the meters installed at the Beach; and WHEREAS, due to the immediate need of additional meters for the summer, the purchase of two (2) additional meters is necessary; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the City Manager is authorized to pay an amount not to exceed the sum of$32,774.00 to Parkeon, Inc. for the purchase of three (3) parking meters in FY 2008-09 from the Capital Projects Fund.
