PUBLIC HEARING - (second and final reading of ordinance regarding annexation of the unincorporated area) . City Manager Flatley stated that after he and City Manager Rosenbaum of Hollywood on separate occasions had met with Nicki Grossman, Chairman of the Broward County Board of Commissioners, concerning the annexation matter, an agreement had been reached to meet and work with County Administrator Hester to come up with a solution that would be best for the unincorporated area , Hollywood, and Dania. i Based on the promise of Hollywood to stop the volunteer annexation of j any more property and that they would table their second reading of the Crystal Lake Mobile Home Park and the Oakridge Golf Course, City Manager Flatley recommended that the second reading of this ordinance be continued until the September 12th regular commission meeting. Commissioner Cook made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Grace, to continue the second reading of the ordinance until the September 12th meeting with the understanding that the City of Dania will stop any further volunteer annexations during this time also. Commissioner Bertino inquired of City Attorney Adler as to whether in the event Hollywood would decide to go ahead with the volunteer annexations of the Mobile Home Park and the Golf Course, the City would be in any detrimental situation as far as timing in having a referendum vote and still keeping that area intact so the people would have a choice. City Attorney Adler responded by stating that the time frame for the City of Dania would be where it is presently. The motion passed on the following roll call vote: Commissioner Bertino-yes Vice-Mayor Mikes-yes Commissioner. Cook-yes Mayor McElyea-yes Commissioner Grace-yes At this time Mr. Alex Buchsbaum, Vice-President of the Griffin Civic Association addressed the commission informing them of the meeting the association is holding on August 22nd at 7 : 30 p.m. and invited all of the commission to attend . Other comments and concerns were expressed by citizens of the unincorporated area and the Dania area. This special meeting was then adjourned.
