I I City Manager Flatley presented the final annexation map that was adopted by the City approval . Mr. Flatley explained that based on the present 5 .78 millage rate this area will produce enough revenue to cove$740, 000 service costs for fire r the, anticipated management Planning. Police, public works and growth g p 9• Mr, Flately pointed out the lands that will be developed on the annexation map and informed the Commission of 1 the assessed valuation expected over, the next 9 to 5 these commercial sites are developed. Years once City Manager Flatley informed the Commission that first there will be a public hearing at the County Commis where the Delegation sion in January reviews the proposed bill presented by Dania and Hollywood and decides to go forward or not; a public hearing would then be conducted in February alter all public notices are sent out to all residents in the affected areas; in April the legislation will approve or deny and the Governor. in July the bill will go to City Attorney Adler informed Commissioner Grace that the residents in the proposed annexation area will not be voting he whether or not to come :into the City of Dania . City Attorneon y Adler explained that this is determined by the proposed annexation bill . However, the residents in the proposed annexation area will be able to vote prior to the five year Period to voluntarily come into Dania and if they Choose not t t vote, then at the end of five years, they will o automatically be I annexed into Dania . After further discussion made a motion, seconded by Commissioner. the Commission , Vice-Mayor Mikes {€€ffff r Bertino to a t map presented by City Manager Flatley that has been approved the ttt the City of Hollywood. by N$1j SPECIAL MEETIIIG DECEMBER 7 , 1989 The motion passed on the following roll call voLc,: Commissioner Bertino-yes Vice-Mayor Mikes-ves Commissioner Cook-yes Mayor McElyea-yes Commissioner Grace-yes Discussion continued regarding City Manager Flatley negotiating with the County regarding the unincorporated and airport areas not held in LiLl e by the County automatically reverting to the City of Dania at the end of 5 years and Dania obtaining rights to any utility easemenLs Lhru counLy land for future use . At this time, the Commission welcomed inriut. and questions regarding the city front several residents in the ,in incorporated area. Mr. Alex Buchsbaum from the Griffin Civic Association expressed his approval of the proposed annexation map. Mr . Bill Hyde questioned if the five year voluntary annexation in the unincorporated area would be handled on a precinct by precinct basis . City Manager Flately informed Mr. Hyde that details on how this will be handled must, be worked out prior to the bill going Lo the legislative delegation . i Faye Bartalimus informed the Commission and audience that the Urban League, in conjunction with Frost and Modello Park, is sponsoring a Senior Christmas Ball at the I .T. Parker Community Center on December 15, 1989. Mrs. BarLalimus explained that refreshments and entertainment will be provided and for further " 1 information to call Barbara Lawson at Frost Park. Ms .
