Home My WebLink AboutR-2010-186 Change Order #3 Nanofiltration Project RESOLUTION NO. 2010-186 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, RELATING TO CHANGE ORDER NO. 3 FOR THE NANOFILTRATION WATER PLANT PROJECT; REALLOCATING ALLOWANCES FOR NO NET INCREASE IN TIME AND AN INCREASE IN COST OF AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED OF $90,445.00; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Resolution 2002-120 approving the Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Facilities Plan; and WHEREAS, the City received proposals for design and construction of a 2.0 MGD Nanofiltration Water Treatment Plant on the City's existing water plant site; and WHEREAS, the City Commission awarded Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc. the designibuild contract in the amount of$8,820,923.00 in November 2009; and WHEREAS, the contract will require additional new funding to complete and will also contain a series of allowances intended to address issues that could not be adequately bid prior to design; and WHEREAS,the new funding and contract allowances would be provided as follows: SCOPE OF CHANGE ORDER 1. Furnish and install new artesian"FENCESTONE"precast concrete wall system. The wall system is engineered in accordance with current local and Florida Building Codes and includes a custom integral color and warranty ............ $72,000.00 2. Furnish and install new landscaping NotIncluded ............................................................................. ................$0.00 3. Remove existing chain link fence and shrubs All existing obstructions are to be removed to provide clear access prior to the installation of the new wall system and new landscaping ..........................................................$4,839.00 4. Surveying The surveyor will stake the fence line location with a three foot offset prior to commencement of installation of the wall system ......................................................................$1,290.00 5. Signage The City's logo and the Water Treatment Plant's street address will be wall-mounted with raised lettering at the diagonal wall located at the intersection of Stirling Road and J.A. Construction Services Construction services include soliciting subcontractor pricing, developing the cost proposal, permit approval of engineered drawings, and supervision and coordination of work.....$3,000.00 7. Bonds and Insurance (3%) CDM shall provide all bonds and insurance required by the City..........................$2,635.00 8. Design-Builder's Fixed Fee A fixed fee of 5% is specified for the net change to the work .............................$4,181.00 Total Change Order No. 3 Amount .................................................... $90,445.00; and WHEREAS, there is no increase in time; however, there is a need to provide increased project funding by an amount not to exceed $90,445.00 for this Change Order No. 3; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA,AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Change Order No. 3 (attached) related to the construction agreement for the 2.0 MGD Nanofiltration Water Treatment Plant Project with no increase in time is approved. Section 2. That Change Order No. 3 requires an increase in the project's funding by an amount of $90,445.00 and that this increased funding shall be provided through transfer of available funds in the Water Fund-Contingency Account #401-3301-533.99-10, which has an available balance of $571,413.00 on October 12, 2010, into the Nano Plant Capital Project Account#401-3303-533.6310. Section 3. That the proper City officials are authorized to execute Change Order No. 3 in the amount of$90,445.00. Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. 2 RESOLUTION#2010-186 i i Section 5.
