DAVIS STREET, WHICH PORTION IS LOCATED BETWEEN PHIPPEN-WAITERS ROAD AND SW 12" AVENUE U IN THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Mr. Harold A. Davis has been an outstanding Dania Beach citizen who has dedicated his life to helping others since 1949; and WHEREAS, Mr. Davis has been available spiritually and financially to families in Dania Beach during their hardest times and greatest losses; and WHEREAS, on November 16, 2010, the City's Parks and Recreation Board recommended approval of a street name co-designation request; and WHEREAS, in honor of Mr. Davis, the City of Dania Beach desires to co-designate a portion of SW 6th Street to "Harold A. Davis Street", such portion being located between Phippen-Waiters Road and SW 121h Avenue in the City of Dania Beach; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Dania Beach establishes a street name change as follows: That a portion of SW 6th Street (identified below) is co-designated as "Harold A. Davis Street" in the City of Dania Beach. That future signs on SW 61h Street shall be identified as follows: SW 6th Street (Harold A. Davis Street) (From Phippen-Waiters Road west to SW 12th Avenue) Section 2. That the City Clerk is directed to provide a copy of this Ordinance to Calvin, Giordano & Associates, the City's engineers, for future inclusion in the "Official Map of the City of Dania Beach" and to notify postal services of the street name change. The Public Works/Utilities Director is directed to notify all utility companies and to make appropriate signage changes. Section 3. That if any section, clause, sentence or phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance. Section 4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are repealed. Section 5.
