HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2011-032 - Grant Application under the FL Boating Improvement Grant Program for Boating Access Facilities RESOLUTION NO. 2011-032 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE AN APPLICATION WITH THE STATE OF FLORIDA IN CONNECTION WITH FLORIDA FISH AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION COMMISSION ("FWC") UNDER THE FLORIDA BOATING IMPROVEMENT GRANT PROGRAM FOR BOATING ACCESS FACILITIES GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $181,293.00 FOR PLANNING, DESIGN, ENGINEERING AND PERMITTING FOR THE DANIA BEACH MARINA; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the State of Florida has established the Florida Boating Improvement Program to provide grants to local governments for boating access; and WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach wishes to apply for grant funds available from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission ("FWC") under the Florida Boating Improvement Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach's municipal marina replacement project has a total estimated project cost for design and engineering in the amount of$469,543.00, for which it has existing project funding of$288,250.00 resulting in a funding need of$181,293.00. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That Colin Donnelly, the Assistant City Manager of the City of Dania Beach, and other proper City officials are authorized to execute a grant application for $181,293.00 with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission ("FWC") to obtain grant funds available under the Florida Boating Improvement Program for a Boating Access Facilities Grant. Section 2. That the City has already secured other project funding from: 1) the Florida Inland Navigation District in the amount of $96,000.00; 2) Broward County Boating Improvement District in the amount of $96,250.00 and 3) City Capital Improvement Fund appropriations in the amount of$96,000.00 — for a total of$288,250.00 current funding which qualifies as matching funds toward this new FWC grant. Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 4. That this Resolution shall be in full force and take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED and ADOPTED on March 22, 2011.
